Hidden Davy Jones on PotC ride??

Hi, my DH is sure there is a hidden Davy Jones, just after the second drop, and prior to the skeleton steering the ship in the thunderstorm... if sitting on the right side of the boat, he says you can see, above you, in some sort of fluorescent lighting, the image of Davy Jones staring at you, and his head even turns as you keep staring.... True??? No worries, I have no money riding on this, LOL, as I think he may be right! Thanks for your replies!

Thanks for your reply, no, not that... this one is not that obvious. Right after the second drop, just prior to the skeleton steering the ship... upper right hand corner of the ride, on the ceiling.... fluorescent kind of light - purple/blue...

I can't say for sure whether it's true or not, but the last time I was there I was trying to look more at the stuff people wouldn't normally look at, because once is enough for me on the ride, but my niece insists on riding it about 1,000x. Anyways, I swear I saw something in that exact area you are describing, and I could have sworn it was looking at me. I turned away to get someone's attention in my family, but when I looked back again I couldn't see it anymore. So I just told myself I made it up so I didn't think I was too crazy or get too scared.

It wouldn't surprise me - Disney is so crafty at hiding things like Hidden Mickeys on rides and around the parks! I am sure they have found ways to work in a hidden Davy Jones that a lot of people overlook. I am going to DLR in a couple of weeks - and I am one of those nuts who rides Pirates multiple times in one trip, so I am going to look for it. I like to think of myself as being very detail-oriented, but I miss a lot of things, and it always amazes me how some people are such keen observers that they can notice hidden things instantly! Your husband must be one of them! Really sharp eyes!

And also,on POTC, I heard that if you turn around in your seat and look behind you somewhere you will see rock shaped like goofys head. Now I have looked for that a few times and I cant seem to find it. Anyone have any pointers for this?

yes! after the second drop you are in the cave area with the crab and seagull in the sand and there is a skeleton hanging on a rock, wait until you are past that rock, turn around and the rock looks like goofy's head with his hat and his ears!

Okay, so now that you know where to look for the hidden Davy Jones and the hidden Goofy head/rock, since you are going to DLR today, you must report back to us at once with a confirmation of these sightings! I now have to look for two more things on POTC when I go in a couple of weeks, and I had already planned on trying to find some more hidden Mickeys. Oh well, just another excuse to get on POTC a dozen times!

Goofy head yes, Davey Jones I don't know but right after the drop in the turn there is a skull face in a hole that is not horribly easy to notice, could that be what he is thinking of?

Hee hee. That is a hot topic on these boards! I only wish my lame camera was able to pick up something on a dark ride like POTC, but it isn't (I need a new, GOOD camera), so no one will have to worry about me flash photo-ing or LCD screen-ing on any ride!! I will be happy if I can even turn around and look fast enough to be able to catch the Goofy rock and MAYBE a glimpse of the Davy Jones image that the OP was describing!

Sorry guys, I didnt see a thing. I tried to look but I didnt see a goofy head or Davey Jones. I hope pp's Dd will see them. There was a woman in front of us who... you guessed it, was snapping pictures with a bright flash. ARGHHHH!

I have seen Goofy's head but not Davy Jones in the ceiling so will look for that one. ThanksQ

I have no qualms about speaking up...just ~gently reminding~ people that "HEY! They said NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY!" (My family is used to my vocalizations by now; they only get slightly mortified....on occasion. )

Now I'm going to have to be on the look out for a possible hidden Davy and for Goofy's head.
