I was told there is a Hibachi place in Japan.. Is it good? My kids love Hibachi so Id like to go here but is the food any good? how is the "show" from the chefs?

It is Teppan Edo in the Japanese Pavilion.

We've been there many times and really enjoy the food and the show. The service there is great!!

The one thing you have to remember about Teppan Edo, when comparing it to a hibachi chain restaurant you might have at home, is that the menu is a good deal more limited.

Fried rice is not served, just steamed rice. The fried rice thing has apparently been a dealbreaker for some.

Another possible dealbreaker is that the soup and salad are not included with the entree, if you want them they can be ordered separately. If you're on the deluxe dining plan you can select soup OR salad as your appetizer, but sushi is not included.

Does anyone have any info on whether or not they use MSG? We had a place we loved here that had 2 locations. 1 of the 2 closed, so we tried the other. Turns out, they use MSG at that location & it made my wife sick :(

OHHHH that is great to know that you! those things could definitely be a deal breaker for us!

We love Teppan Edo! It is my favorite place to eat at WDW. The food is really good and the chefs are entertaining!

Teppan Edo is a must do on every trip. In fact I'm eating there for my 30th Birthday Day! (which is in 16 days:thumbsup2)

. . . about average
. . . worse than Benihana
. . . limited menu compared to other hibachi places

. . . food is OK
. . . not great
. . . not bad

how is the "show" from the chefs?
. . . depends upon the chef
. . . could be good
. . . could be ho-hum

Most post that if you have a good teppanyaki style restaurant at home and go often you will be disappointed with Teppan Edo since its pretty much the same food for more money i.e. nothing special.

Now if you don't have any at home its usually something new and different.
