Hi All,

I'm new here and thought I'd come and say hello and share my trip plans. I'm too excited, and I'm thinking my husband may cancel the trip if I don't stop talking to him about it constantly! So here I am, sharing with other likeminded people instead! Quick intro on us. I'm Belinda, my husband is Daniel, we're both 25 and live in regional NSW. We went to Europe in 2009 and have been planning a trip to the US practically ever since (ok lets be honest, it's just me who is planning, Daniel's just along for the ride!). We're planning 6 weeks in the US & Cuba with a quick stop in Cancun. Truthfully though I'm just the most excited about our 6 days in WDW!! Our best friend Jacqui will also be joining us for the USA leg of the trip. We only had a mini honeymoon when we married last year and so this is a bit of a belated honeymoon (or moreso the last two weeks whilst we're on our own) and also an early 30th birthday celebration for Jacqui whose birthday is actually not long after we return to Australia.

I've been lurking here for a while and love reading everyone's plans and trip reports so I'll just pop down the rough plan of ours in case anyone is interested.

Our plans:
Fly Melb- LA on 8th November
3 nights LA
4 nights San Diego
5 nights Las Vegas
6 night road trip (including Grand Canyon and a visit to husbands friends)
5 nights New York
5 nights WDW
9 nights Cuba
3 nights Cancun

Talk to us about it, we don't mind :goodvibes

Your trip looks awesome, fitting alot in there :thumbsup2

Welcome to the Dis!

Happy planning for that great looking trip. :thumbsup2

Looks like a great trip. It will be really great to hear about Cuba as well. What is the draw card to Cuba? What do you plan to see there etc? I think we will all love hearing about it.

Chat away about your trip, we all love it here and it will save you driving your DH mad :)

Mindy, your trip looks wonderful!

As a fellow road-tripper I'm very interested in your plans for that part of your holiday. :)

Is your 6 night road trip a loop around the southwest and then you fly to NYC? Or are you planning to road trip from LA to NYC ( i.e. cross country?)

Have lots of fun planning!

Andona

Welcome to the DIS!!

Your trip looks good so far. Can't wait to hear more about it. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Cuba was my husband's must do on this trip, I'm not even sure he knows exactly why he wants to go to be honest! He has relatives in England who have been a couple of times and said it was wonderful. I think he feels like everywhere else we've travelled/are travelling is quite mainstream and touristy and he'd like to get a bit off the beaten track.

Just doing a loop on our road trip. Daniel spent some time in a little town in New Mexico years ago for work so we'll be doing the Grand Canyon (staying in Flagstaff for a night or two) then heading accross to visit his friends in New Mexico, Jacqui wants a stop in Roswell so we'll add that in and then maybe a night in Albuquerque, not entirely sure! I would have loved to do a full road trip across country but we just don't have the time. We don't mind rushing around, when we did our Europe trip we stayed only 2 nights in the majority of the cities but felt we did a lot. I don't travel internationally to relax, if I want to relax I go local lol.

You sound just like my DH! He doesn't know what "relax" means :rotfl:

If I can get him to spend an afternoon by the pool at our hotel in WDW it will be a small miracle!

However, I really don't mind - we like to see as much as we can on our trips too. I think you'll love your road trip around the Southwest - it is my favourite part of all the USA that I have seen so far. We keep going back there for at least part of every trip. :lovestruc
