Hi Everyone!

I joined this forum months ago when we first booked our trip - but I haven't been brave enough to post until now, so I have finally got the courage to say Hi to you all :) although I do read the posts a few times a week - mainly the food related ones haha, this forum is great:thumbsup2 but I'm afraid that I don't have much to contribute though as this will be our first trip to DLP and we are really excited as we have booked a few nights for my son's 6th birthday in Feb and it's a surprise for all of the kids.

Hi jjcole,

Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome you to DLP DIS board :flower3:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread, or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1477038 ,
DIS posting guidelines can be found here
http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm .

So how long do you think you'll manage to keep your trip to DLRP a secret from the kids :goodvibes ?

:welcome: to the DIS boards. I hope you will have fun planning a magical trip and I'm sure your kids will be thrilled when they find out where they are going.

Hello and welcome to the group. Feel free to ask any questions - I'm sure there'll be many of us on here who will be able to help you.

I wouldn't worry about contributing much, everyone who has joined the forum went though s tage when they couldn't really answer any questions. I've recently been on my first trip so was in the same boat as yourself for a while.

They have loads of helpful guys and gals here all happy to help answer your questions and make your trip more enjoyable for you.

Trust me most people here love any excuse to talk DLP, so any questions you can't find answers to just be bold and ask.

hope you enjoy your planning! Where are you staying by the way?

Glen is really, really right about that!

I joined in June and didn't really say much to start with and I've just done my 3,000th post today!

Everyone here is so helpfull and everyone loves an excuse to talk so ask as many questions as you need to.

Hope you have a great trip in February!

Thanks for your replies!

I'm not planning on telling the kids until we get to St.Pancras - they are only small(5,3 and 1) so won't be able to catch us out, hopefully... I found it really difficult to choose where to stay and eventually went for the Cheyenne mainly because it seemed like the one my son would choose himself, not so sure I made the right choice as some of the offsite hotels look great, I also booked the halfboard vouchers which I'm glad about as I see that they seem to be recommended on these boards too:)

Looking forward to getting to know DLP!

Your son will love the Cheyenne, our first stay was there and our next one too, my boy's 9, 14 and 41 outvoted me on it, it's every cowboy/girl's dream just like being in a real Western town. You've picked a great time to go too, a birthday is fantastic excuse for a Disney trip, whatever the age. Are you planning on booking the Birthday party or arranging a cake ? Either will make the trip really special for all of you but for your DS in particular. :goodvibes

Almost forgot - Welcome to DIS
