Hi everyone! I am new to posting but have lurked since my trip to Universal last year. My family and I are going to Disneyworld in July and I can't wait! I have a question though. We are curious about the tickets. We weren't going to get the park-hopper option but now someone has told us that you can't enter the SAME park more than once a day. Is this true? If it is then we may want to get the park-hopper option. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks, Wendy

With the base ticket, you can enter one park only per day, but you can leave that park and then come back later.

At the park exit, you have to get your hand stamped for re-entry. When you return, you present your ticket, and show your stamped hand under an ultraviolet lamp.

:cool2:

That sounds great then! We just don't think that we can handle more than one park a day and didn't want to spend the extra money if we didn't have to.

Another question though, does the stamp come off easily? We make take the kids swimming during a break in the day and I am worried that the stamp will fade.

Thanks again!

Good question about the stamp coming off in the pool. I would like to know too. We just got back from Seaworld and the stamp did not rub off in the pool but you never know...

Don't worry - we've often gone swimming on mid-afternoon breaks from the parks and we've never had a problem with the stamp coming off or with getting back into the park. Have a great time! :cool1:

Actually I don't think they do the hand stamps anymore. Your information is encoded on your admission ticket so it knows when you have entered and what park you went to . When you go back you just put your ticket in the turnstyle again. If you try to go to a different park it will reject the ticket and you will be turned away. As long as you are at the same park (without the hopper option) it will let you right in.

Someone correct me if I am wrong?

I can only speak for Disneyland, not WDW, but I was at DL in April and they still did the hand stamps. A CM once explained to me that they do the stamps with the tickets to keep people from leaving the park and then giving their tickets to someone else to use the rest of the day. So you need both the ticket and a hand stamp to get back in. But, like I said, this was DL and DCA - WDW might be different.

You do not need to get your hand stamped at Disney World anymore. You just use your ticket to reenter the park. They scan your finger so they know it's your ticket.
