Hi All, I'm new to the site so hopefully I'm doing this right :) You will also have to excuse my grammar as since my daughter decided she was posting a message too my return key is bringing up the sound menu instead of a new line ?!?! Don't know how she does it!! :confused3 Anyway, We have just booked our first disneyland Paris trip for the end of November returning on 1st December!! I'm soooooooooo excited and struggling with the 'not telling the kids yet' (partly so my son doesn't spend the next 4 1/2 weeks asking me how many sleeps-he's already on countdown to Christmas!). It will be his second Disney trip as we went to WDW in 2008 (for a family wedding) but as he was only 2 he doesn't remember it! He's now 5 (and asks on a daily basis if we can go to Disneyland Paris) my daughter is 2 1/2, can't wait to see their faces!!! :lovestruc Right, less rambling and on to my questions, 1) We are staying in the Cheyenne, does anyone know how long the walk will be to the park - we will get the shuttle where we can but not sure I like the sound of the crushing, I'm very english and like my queues  2) Is it worth paying the extra money for the buffalo Bill wild west show? what do people think? 3) Cafe Mickey - people seem to be saying about booking 'from 6pm' does this mean you can't book at 5pm, or are there more characters around after 6? I think that's all for now although, I'm sure there'll be others but I'm annoying myself with the no spaces between questions so most of you have proabably stopped reading by now anyway, haha. Anyway, grateful for any help/opinions :) Thanks very much! Gill

Hiya Gill and welcome to Disboards

We stayed in the Cheyenne in March and had a room in the Sundance block which was far from reception but along the Rio Grande which lead to Lake Disney, Disney Village and the parks. We walked it almost the whole time (an achievement in itself as we're lazy bums!) It took about 10minutes and you wouldnt feel the walk.

Cafe Mickey doesnt have characters (possibly doesnt even open :confused3) until 6pm so I wouldnt book any earlier.

I personally didnt really enjoy the BBWWS so I wouldnt book it again but the show was quite good, its the meal that put me off going again. Theres a website that gives you much discounted rated. We used it in March and saved €20 or maybe more per adult. I cant remember the link, it was in french too and you would need to have a printer as you print the tickets there and then. If you do a search for bbwws discount on the main dlp disboard page you'll find it :thumbsup2

LOL i know what you mean. I have a very excitable almost 6 year old here! We didnt tell her we're off in two weeks either. Partly cause its a birthday surprise and partly because it would make the midterm a veeeeeeeeeeery long week!!

Happy planning!

Hi & welcome, Cafe Mickey is open all day but the characters only come out at certain times, 6pm as mentioned by the pp, not sure of the lunch time though.

Have a fab trip:goodvibes

Cafe Mickey has characters from 12-3 too. We always do lunchtime as ds would be too tired to enjoy it in the evening (and we are really bad at booking early enough to get a table at 6pm)!

Have a fab time!

Many Thanks all, that's sooo helpful. There just seems so much to choose from so I want to make sure we make the most of our trip. I think we'll definitely do the Cafe Mickey but will book soon if the 6 o'clock slot gets busy. I think much later and mine might go into meltdown too :)

Kizzabel - thanks for the tip on BBWWS. I'll definitely have a search for the site but I'm leaning towards giving it a miss as for approx £140 I'd want to enjoy ALL of it  wondering if another themed meal might be better?! Oh the decisions!! :rotfl:

Good Luck with the birthday surprise, how exciting!!!!!!! She'll be so pleased with you! When are you going to tell?? We're debating waiting until the morning we go (we don't fly until late afternoon) and just getting their new trunki's out with their disney p.j's in and tell them they need to pack - not that my DD will fully understand but DS will be over the moon!! Anyway, I doubt I'll last that long but we'll see

Sorry last question but can you request a certain block at the Cheyenne when you get there?

Thanks again Gill (who has finally managed to fix the return key )

we stayed here a few years ago and it took about 15-20 mins to get to the main park. Unless you are like us and stop at EVERY disney store on the way then it takes about 3 hours!!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: we used the bus once because we were so tired we just couldn't walk any further and it was very quick and easy xx

Hiya Gill,

You can request a certain block but I would do it via email. If you email guest relations > email is in the useful info sticky. I know theres probably an email for front desk but I only have the Sequoia Lodge one. They cant guarantee the block but they will try their best. They allocate them a week before you arrive so its best to email around then :thumbsup2

Ive gotten a story book made up for DD which has pictures of her at DLP/rides she loves at DLP and we'll give it to her in the airport. At 4am :scared1: Each page has a different pic and caption.
1st being Happy birthday Jemma and her pic with her face painted in DLP
2nd is a pic of an airplane and we are going on an airplane
3rd is bambi with bambi would like you to stay in his hotel
4th is the castle and would you like to see this
then some pics of rides with would you like to go on this and characters and would you like to meet them, the princesses would like to meet you for lunch, Mickey will see you at dinner, Santa would love to meet you and the last page is Marie (Aristocats) with a birthday cake and the caption Happy birthday Jemma, love from Daddy Mammy and James!
We're staying the the travelodge the night before and are "going to the zoo" or so she thinks! Shes agreed to go to the airport to look at planes taking off and thats when we'll give her her new trolley bag and book and bambi plush!

A lot of effort but its gonna be magical :wizard:

Love the trunkis! Jemma adores her one and it gets dragged out and played with the whole time - its her pink cow and its where strawberry milk comes from apparently :rotfl:

Haha, oh dear I think if there are Disney Stores along the way we'd better get the bus!! And I'm not even thinking of the kids! :rotfl:

Kizzabel - That sounds really magical, almost brought a tear to my eye  I hope you have the video camera ready for that moment!!

Thanks again for your help too, will give the email a go and fingers crossed :)
