WEll we made a LOT of changes to the original inside layout! LOL
The outside looks the same -
The total size is larger...
that that Jack and Jill Bath became a common bath with a door in the hall there only - (we have a boy in one room and a girl in the other and I have watched WAY to many episodes of Brady Bunch to know that one will lock th eother door leaving the other one yelling and cutting through the others room - lol)
The ceilings over the living room and kitchen are cathedral with a Bridge (aka catwalk) attaching a bed and bath above the 2 kids rooms and a libraby/office above the master bedroom.
We also made the garage 3 car, and added an in-law house off that!
We are two years into the project now!
(from when we found the 7 1/2 acres! - we had to go through concervation commity stuff which took 7 months til we could close on it!)
then it took a good year + just to dig and haul for the driveway! (700ft+-)
We should be moving in come July if all goes well (and I believe that this is a VERY realistict deadline!)
We could never in a million years afford this whole thing but-
A - we got a screaming deal on the land - noone thought is was buildable because there are wetlands in the entire front of it - at the street -
B - My husband in a general contractor
C - all of the vendors he works with are being very nice to us when giving us prices for our personal house
and D - DH wants to build houses so this is a spec house!
I am sooo annoyed with people instead of saying something nice like - "this is going to be beautiful' or "you deserve this (we have been living in multifamily houses for the last 7 years to save money - can't wait NOT to have someone else live in our house - lol) so instead they say "Well I wouldn't want to clean this"
I have now thought up a good response just to annoy people - "oh we have already interviewed a few cleaning ladies..."
So does anyone know any websites that are specific to North East Lanscaping?
New Jersey must be a CRAZY Real Estate Market!
Where would you be looking to move too?
I can't believe how cheap real estate in Upstate NY is still!
