We are going to Disney 12/24 through 12/31 and are very excited. Half of the group of 10 have never been and the others it has been years. I am most excited about the food! I've been reading the guide books since July and the boards. I made some decisions in advance that I never would have if not for reading these boards and the books! I'm more excited about the food than anything else.

We have some people in the family that are waffling on if they will eat out or at the rental house. I made several ADR's based on their attendance, if I cancel and they decide to go then they'll be mad. Is it okay to leave the ADR's for 10 as is or is that rude? I just don't want to get down there and have to deal with family that can't make up their minds.

They think it will be a breeze that week and we keep explaining that if we don't plan NOW then we'll be down there the busiest week of the year and LOST. I want to be sure to eat at some of the places everyone talks about.

I left my list of ADR's at home or I'd post. DH and I are have explained that we don't plan to eat at the house that much!

I've read so many reviews and understand that personal preference plays a lot in to what you do so have tried to balance what I know about my family and what the reviews say.

You all have the best information here.

Take Care!

Welcome to the DIS! Yes, there are great folks here and lots of great information.
I am not sure that I can answer your question. I feel for you and your dilemna. I agree with you though, if you wait to try to secure an ADR during the week between Christmas and New Year's you will most likely be out of luck, especially for a group as large as 10.
That said, I personally would be very uncomfortable if I had made an ADR for a party of 10 and then showed up with only 2 or 4 people. :confused3
Not only would I be uncomfortable, it would make those dinner places unavailable to others who might like an ADR.
I would keep trying to get concensus from the members of your group. Good Luck with what you decide to do.

i'd tell them they have to decide now also..it's such a busy time of yr it would be nice to let someone use those places if they aren't going to . if they get there and wish they were going, well, you gave them a chance!

"breeze" and that week wouldn't really belong in the same sentence to me :)but enjoy yourself!

I would keep your ADRs for now. I guarantee that after your first day there when they see the crowds and the inability to walk into a restaurant, they will go along with your plan. It's very convenient to eat in the parks instead of driving back to your rental home, especially if you want to see fireworks, parades, etc.

That being said, if you also learn that people in your party won't be interested in a certain meal, you can call Disney Dining while you are there and cancel out the number of people who won't be going so someone else can use their spots.

I also think of food shortly after DH suggests we go. He worries about what parks we'll go to - I worry that we won't get to eat at all the places I like!

Have a great trip.

Hi and Welcome!
Another thing to consider is that you will be going at the busiest time of the year. It is possible that Disney will have to close a park or two due to overcrowding. I would not want to leave WDW and later find out that I cannot get into one of the parks. When you arrive at your park for the day plan on staying and eating there.
