:wave2: Hi all. This is my first post! Just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm familiar with message boards and must say the smiley selection on here is awesome! It could take me several minutes to type a post up with all those cute smiley options to plug in!

My family has booked the 14 day transatlantic cruise for Sep 2010. I have seen the "meet up" and other threads, but I have just a general question about it.

Since we are booking so far in advance, they can not give an exact quote on airfare. This leaves me with a big worry looming over my head that the airfare that we will end up paying will be a LOT different than the "guesstimated quote" that Disney has already given.

Any experience on the price estimates on airfare when booking so far out? Should we expect it to be pretty close to the original quote or do we need to be prepared for it to go up a few thousand dollars? When I do the airfare on Travelocity separate, it is about 4000.00 more than what Disney is telling me.

TIA!

My understanding is that the quote for airfare included in the DCL price is not a "quess"....it is the price of the packeage. I know some people on our meet board got a GREAT rate on the airfare portion during a certain window. I got in just after it and still feel I got a pretty good rate compared with what I have been able to get on the ghost bookings this Sept. $2800 for the 3 of us from DTW to BCN and MCO to DTW.....with all the transfers.

Welcome Aboard!

Thanks much for the warm welcome!

Hmmmm...well, I'm just a bit confused then I think. When I called the Disney travel agents, she told me that after my deposit, I would owe $1700.00 and to remember that the other portion could not be guaranteed because they can not give an exact quote on airfare this far out. :confused3

So, for exact numbers:

The quote while booking was $6,100.00. (Don't remember the exact dollar amount but you get the idea.)

I paid $1,200.00 down.

She told me I still only owed $1,700.00. When I asked why she then told me about the airfare quote stuff. So right now, it "feels" like I'm only guaranteed an amount of $2,900.00ish. So I'm a little nervous about what the rest will be...will it be close to the $6,100.00 or a lot more?

Hopefully this makes sense.

Hi:cheer2:
Welcome
I cant help with air fare, but come on over to the thread meet, it moves pretty fast but just jump in when you have a minute, there seems lots of people but we have ( well look at my ticker) to get to know each other.
also a kids thread if your kids are old enogh.

They are a great bunch.

Bumpety! :rolleyes1

Anyone with personal experience on whether this price will change?

Ask the question on the Meet Thread.....because I am pretty sure I would remember if it was an "estimate."

Welcome, Kimber. Beautiful girl you have there - I've heard of matching dresses but matching smiles look like they are in your future!

My DW and I are booked on the eastbound TA a few months before your cruise, and the confirmation Disney sent didn't say anything about the possibility of the airfare cost changing. I will be very upset if they try pulling a change on me - especially considering how much they are charging for airfare!

I booked a cat 11 for us, because I didn't think cat 9+ was worth the extra money for the transatlantic cruise. The cruise fare comes to $999 each, and the airfare is $1075 each!

Nice to meet you!

Hi Kimber... knew it wouldn't take you long... ;)

You know how to catch me if there is something I can actually help with! :goodvibes
