Hi, I just started doing Atkins last Wednesday as I really need to lose weight - 70 lbs at least. I have already lost 9 lbs and am feeling better already.

Does anyone have a US to UK weight converter for recipes as there are some great recipes here and on the Atkins site.

I just wish I could get hold of some of the lo-carb cooking ingredients without spending a fortune getting it imported as we don't even have Splenda in my local supermarket. Who needs dessert anyway??

Thanks to Kath for directing me over here from the Uk community board.

HI!
Welcome elisebutt, I'm a newbie here too...wow, great job so far! Keep up the good work.

Hi, Elisebutt!!!

Congratulations on losing 9 pounds already!

Is this what you are looking for?

Or were you looking for ounces to grams?

Here is one for oven temperatures:

Good luck on Atkins. If you keep losing like this, you'll reach your goal in no time!!! :) I hope you add a WISH clipart to your signature and stick around here for a while!!! :)

Thanks for the links - I think with all the weight I have to lose, I will be around for a good long time. I am trying desperately to drop 2 dress sizes in time for my holiday to Australia as at the minute I look about 7 months pregnant in a swimsuit and I hate all the questions about - 'when are you due??' CRINGE!!!

My son has suggested I change my sig to bigbutt (slap!!) so I thought it was about time I got off it and lost the weight.

Also walking to school which is a 2 mile round trip twice a day - He's now wishing he didn't have such a smart mouth as I am stepping up the pace on a daily basis.:p

Elise!! It's so great to see you here. We have a great support group going, they have helped me so much. Everyone is so caring and helpful.

I hope you will drop by often, I do because I really need the encouragement from people who actually know what I'm going through.

I'm doing Atkins too, 26 1/2 pounds total lost so far. I can't remember how many stone that is.

Sounds like you need to get your son into chat some Sunday so I can "bop" him for you ;)

You're on your way now and you are going to be successful...I have absolutely not one doubt about it.

As far as Splenda is concerned, my husband follow's the Atkins plan and has not given up Aspartame and is still losing. Do you have Sweet n Low available in the UK? That is allowed on Atkins.

Welcome fellow Atkins-dieter! It sounds like you're doing well already!

Before Splenda was available at my local supermarket, I used to order at www.splenda.com. It's more expensive because you have to pay for shipping, but you can combine orders of boxes and packets for a better deal.

Welcome to WISH!

Elise, I bought Splenda at Safeways yesterday, they have it at Tesco too.:Pinkbounc
