My sister and I are taking our kids in July.
We have 3 girls ages 4,6,9 and 2 boys ages 12 and 14. I need some help. My boys are pretty independant and I need to know if disney is safe..or do they need to stay with me at all times..
Thanks

I would say the boys would be fine. There are so many people at disney, but if the 14 yo stays aware of the surroundings and watches the 12 yo I would say they would be fine. Also there are always PLENTY of cast members around, and they are very easy to spot should they get turned around or need anything.

Thanks!! I think the boys will be ok. they both have cell phones so that helps too. We are soooo excited but a little overwhelmed too. Any good advice on how to tackle MK in a day would great.

Hello and welcome to the DIS. I'm sure you'll have a safe and wonderful trip. Don't worry.

The older guys will be fine-definitely make sure they have either a cell phone of a walkie talkie-that would be the best way to keep in touch. Also, make sure you book appts. for the girls at the bibiddi bobiddi boutique. Its changed a bit since our first experience, but I still think all little girls should get their hair & make up done and walk around the park. ITs so special for them-and the pictures will speak for themselves. Have a great trip!

so you thought you could get away from me? just kidding, i am kinda starting to like the dis stuff. i aint got no friends but i have gotten several replies, i can't wait til we leave. how do you get a ticker?

A more budget minded alternative to Bibbidy Bobbity is the Main St. Barbershop. From what I understand, they'll do a glittery haircut thing for under $20.

"Harmony Barber Shop - This really is a working Barber shop and is located next to the Car Barn on Main Street. Look for the red and white striped Barber's Pole located just outside of the shop. Guests can get haircuts and beard/moustache trims.

Haircuts are $17.00 for men or women, $14.00 for children age 10 and under. They don't take reservations. It's all first-come, first-served. The best time to go is either first thing in the morning or during the parade in the afternoon.

"First Haircuts" are the shops specialty. Children who receive their first haircut at the shop will get a complimentary Mickey Ears "First Haircut" stitched on the back and a certificate of the unforgettable event to take home.

The barber shop quartet "The Dapper Dans" sometimes drop in and perform. Shop hours are usually 9:00am-5:00pm (times vary, last haircut taken at 4:30pm). Open seven days a week."

BBB would be lovely, but most definitely not part of our budget. So my girls will be more than happy with the Barbershop.
