catagory I been on a few other boards. and I want to say Hi and I need all the help and support I can get Im back to drinking Diet Coke and Im going to start walking. Why does motivation have to be so hard . I love to walk but it is hard for me to stick with it. and like last year and so many other times if I miss one day. that will be it and no more walking.

a couple of years ago I was on W.W. in the town I used to live in and the lady that ran the meeting drove my nuts, Miss Perfect.

I should Start again.
 
Hi Bambii, welcome to the WISH board. Many of the WISHer's walk for exercise and I'm sure some of them will post soon. (I've got a head start because the UK is some hours ahead of you). Whatever your eating plan - just healthy, low fat, atkins, WW yuo can be sure somebody else is also doing it and will be only to happy to swap tips.:D
 
Hello and welcome, Bambii! :)

Hope you decide to stick around here for a while. I think we'll all agree we are not perfect, and if you read enough posts, you'll find that we all have our up and down days. You have to promise yourself that no matter what, this time it will be different and that if you miss a day or two of walking, it's ok and you'll jump right back on the wagon. There are lots of us here who have considered giving up at one point or another. I know I did before I started WW. When I first joined WISH, I gained weight! Yikes! That really made me want to quit, but I kept at it. Just make small changes at first, things that aren't too restrictive that you can live with. If you think about this as a lifestyle modification instead of a "diet", you'll be a LOOSER in the long run!!!

Hang in there! You can do this!!!! It's not a race or a contest, so don't compare yourself to anyone else. This is something you have to do FOR YOU!!!! :)

Hi Bambii :wave: I'm glad you found WISH! I think you're going to like it here--Wish is all about motivation and inspiration (with maybe a little perspiration thrown in, too)! The people here are the BEST!!! No matter what your plan, there is always someone around to help out!

Would you mind also posting to our Challenge thread? You will find it <b>HERE</b> I use the challenge thread to make up our member roster. It would help me if you would post there too.

So you will be following WW? That's a great plan, a lot of our WISHers follow that nutritional plan and have excellent success with it. If you have any questions about the program, all you have to do is ask and you will receive some great information, soon.

The best part of WISH is our support group, which is made up of men and women who follow every imaginable nutritional plan. They are caring and helpful and they have been a wonderful help to me. They are going to be a help for you, too, just watch.

There is a group here that use Walk Away The Pounds tapes and dvds and do their walking indoors. Do you think you would be more likely to do your walking everyday if you didn't have to brave the weather?

You sound like you are ready to go, I'll bet you do great. You have a plan and you have determination. I know you're going to succeed with your weight loss. Everyone of us is going to help you do that, we'll be here if you need us.

I have the same problem with exercising. If I miss a day, I get discouraged and just give up! We need to learn to be less hard on ourselves, I guess!

Welcome to the WISH board! I wanted to tell you that I've only been here a couple of days myself but it has helped enormously with my motivation! I know finding time and motivation to exercise with kids can be hard sometimes (I've got 2 myself) but together we CAN do this! Being here is the first step in our journey to lose weight and be healthy:D
 
Just wanted to welcome Bambii and TTink to the boards. I would like to second what NavtiveTX said about the WATP tapes. Get them and it'll be the best 20 bucks you spend for yourselve along this journey. Also get off the cokes of any kind bambii. I use to drink 2 2liters a day of coke! Now i still have my coke first thing everymorning like most people have there coffee. But the difference is i buy can's now and only have one sometimes i don't finish the whole thing but that's my ONE and only for the day then i'm on the water. Lots and Lots of water! Watch what you put in your mouth and measure your portions when you first start out. You cut back and eat the correct amounts of foods that will help you tons. Live everyday like you could to this for the rest of your life. If you are commited to weight watchers can you eat like that forever? Don't do this for a month or a goal weight do this for you for your family and your health. Eat smart, exercise and it will come off it's just that simple. And along the bumps in the road you have us your wish buddies to help you through! You can do it both of you. Hook up with a Pm buddy and you have this whole support group here for you. If YOU want this and your committed to a heathlier you grab your banner and start with your next meal. You don't have to wait for a certain day to come. Pick yourself a offical weight day for yourself too. There's a thread started every sunday morning for you to post your weeks progress on. Also i highly recommend to get your snacks ready don't deprive yourself of food that's the silliest think you can do it only makes you crave the bad stuff more. Get you some things you love and modify the way you eat them and eat only the recommended portions at snack times. Like i love pretezels and to add kick to them i get me some salsa for dipping a great snack. I love chocolate ice cream. So i found a tub of old fashion brand chocolate yogurt it's ice cream consistenty and it's very yummy and it's only 1.5 fat per 1/2 cup and i make me up an ice cream cone no fat 20 cals when i need that chocolate fix. So i'm ready for sweet or salty attacks.LOL So get you your favorites and arm yourself. You don't have to buy buckets of fruit to keep around the house and not treat yourself good buy allowing varitey in your diet. You can't not have the variety it's very important to your goals. Also i would recommend you get weight command a program that tracks your loss's in a graph form. You can find it at www.getting2goal.com it's at the bottom of the home page and you can download it free it's done on an honor system if you like it mail the man 9.95 and it's yours for life and your allowed to copy it for another person to use. I have one and dh has one tracking our loss. You may also find wwwfitday.com a helpful site. I use this to count my fat intake and and calorie and it's great for journaling. I hope this helps you guys get started and set goals. I might also tell you if you have a lot of weight to loose break it down into 10% goals. I had 5 10% goals to meet and i'm almost 1/2 way to starting on my 4th 10%. It's nicer to look at 19-22 lbs instead of dang i have 100 pounds to loose. Okay make a plan, grab a banner and get moving ladies!:)
