Hi everyone! Ive been reading through a few threads but thought it best to start my own. Ive booked to go to dlp the last week in september for 4 nights, we're staying at the vienna international dream castle and we're flying there. We are half board plus and its just me, my boyfriend and my son (who will be 23 months old so an early bday present :) ) Ive been to dlp once before when I was about 6 or 7 but cant remember much apart from it poured down with rain and we only stayed one night and it wasnt a disney or disney partner hotel.... so just a few questions if anyone can help me please ..
-How much spending money do you think we will need?

- We want to eat in cafe mickey at least once, how does this work with half board plus vouchers? Do we have to put money towards?

- Has anyone stayed in the dream castle? The reviews say the food is rubbish :confused3

- Any tips for travelling/ being in disney/ flying with an almost 2 year old?

- What will happen re travel cot? Will he just be in one in the corner of the room and me and oh just have to put tv on quietly or read?

- Will the last week in sept still have to 20th anniversary parade etc? Or will there be not a lot on while preparing for halloween celebrations?

- Clothing needed for end of sept climate?

- Will be son enjoy it at his age? What are the best things for him?

.... I prob have a million other questions lol ... this is our 1st family holiday and i just want it to be magic :goodvibes:lovestruc

I will try to answer some of your questions

-How much spending money do you think we will need? That will really depend on how many souvenirs you want to buy. If you go to dlrpmagic you can look at restaurant menus to get an idea of how much you will spend on meals/snacks that you don't have vouchers for.

- We want to eat in cafe mickey at least once, how does this work with half board plus vouchers? Do we have to put money towards? If you eat from the set menu there will be no extra money to pay, you will get a starter, main course, dessert and one soft drink. Your son won't get vouchers because he is under 3, he can eat from your plates for free or you will have to pay for a meal for him. In buffet restaurants he will eat for free.

- Has anyone stayed in the dream castle? The reviews say the food is rubbish :confused3sorry not stayed there

- Any tips for travelling/ being in disney/ flying with an almost 2 year old?

- Will the last week in sept still have to 20th anniversary parade etc? Or will there be not a lot on while preparing for halloween celebrations? All the 20th anniversary stuff should still be on in September

- Clothing needed for end of sept climate?

- Will be son enjoy it at his age? What are the best things for him? There are plenty of rides your son will be able to enjoy: IASW, dumbo, casey jr, peter pan, carousel, teacups, le pays de contes de fee, orbitron, buzz, autopia, POTC (although there are a couple of small drops in this),slinky dog, parachute drop, alladin, playhouse disney show, animagique.... Some young children are quite wary of the characters so you might want to see how he reacts before booking too many character meals:goodvibes

Hi - welcome :)

I think a few of your qus have been answered but just to add:

Yes travel cot will just be in your room, so I guess depending on how sleepy your little one is you'll have to tiptoe around or spend the night in the bathroom before you go to bed!

Re flying - just make sure you take plenty to keep them amused on the flight. If he has a sippy cup or dummy or the like take it for his ears as little ones can't clear their ears properly - something he can suck on to help. Depending on who you are flying with, you should get on the flight quite early (thinking easyjet?) as you have a small child. Of course, you may be flying with an airline that lets you prebook your seats?

The babycare centres are good for changing nappies (?), heating food if you decide to take any 'micro type Organix meals' or anything away with you - although clearly your DS can eat off your plate as you've been told already. If still in nappies take plenty with you and plenty of wipes - you can buy them in the babycare centres but they are very expensive!

Our first trip 2008, we went end Sept and weather was lovely apart from one day when it rained but we just needed a waterproof rainmac over our coats. It wasn't red hot - didn't need suncream but it was warm enough just to have a hoodie & t-shirt on most of the time/jeans/leggings on the bottom half. As the park will probably still have later hours then (we didn't as it's a new thing for 20th yr stuff - was 6 pm shut when we went), you may find it a bit chillier on a nighttime so take a warmer coat etc.

Having said all that, the way the weather is in the world these days, it could be anything weatherwise :rotfl:

Have fun planning :goodvibes

Thank you both for your replies! Im sooooo excited to go... I think il be on disney websites every day until we go! Haha :goodvibes

I can't help with most of your questions, but when I went to cafe mickey last feb they offered my 18 month old daughter a meal for free.
It was not a meal from the regular kids menu but a smaller meal of chips or pasta with sauce. I am sure there was a couple of other choices but i can't remember them. My dd had the pasta with sauce and she loved it.
