My Brother (I won't call him DB because he's never been to Disney & probably never will) lives in Hellertown.

Small world! I'm not in the borough, I'm out past Giant in Lower Saucon Township. Some parts of the borough got calls from the police to stay inside tonight, but then got another call around 7:30pm that all was clear, so I'm assuming they caught whomever they were looking for.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Banditt is drinking water for me but we are having a hard time getting her to eat. We have tried everything imaginable. DH and I will do what is best for her, we will not allow her to suffer. I have had 3 dogs die at home and 3 put down. I hate all of it. I struggle each time and blame myself. Our vet assures me otherwise every time. I know they can only last so long but it should be longer. Thank you everyone.

Did anyone see the local news - our school district was on lockdown today - there was a shooting in the area & the suspect fled on foot, armed, so they locked down the school. One son got home but the other was locked in the school for an hour til they released them. Of course I was supposed to pick him up at 3:45, the lockdown started at 3:35 & I knew nothing - so I'm sitting out in the parking lot waiting & waiting, it never dawned on me that no other parents were there, no kids were around, and there were cops & helicopters everywhere! That's a ton of excitement in our little town!

OMG! I bet you were getting worried sitting in the car & not knowing what was going on!!! Thankfully it turned out ok. Did they catch the guy?

Hi everyone, well our Banditt is not doing any better. DH had the intravenous on her all day to prevent her from getting dehydrated and in the hope that it would perk her up and get her to eat. She will drink water but I can not even sneak in some chicken broth or she will refuse it. We will call the vet tomorrow and see what else we can do. My heart is just breaking.
I feel so sorry for anyone that has to go through this, but I think it does make us better more compassionate people. When a dog comes to live with me I take them on for their life. All of my dogs except Milton, (my now deceased chocolate lab) have been dogs other people have dumped. I could never do that to an animal.

Tara, our school in Shenandoah was in lock down on Wednesday for almost the same thing. The world is a crazy place. Glad it all worked out okay for your boys.

By the way, I am just Disneyholic, No "A". There is another poster on these boards who spells it with the "A". I got a PM from someone one time that was meant for them, that's how I know.

DB lives in an older section of town. If you're going south on 412 you turn right at the light at the Crossroads restaurant and go back a few blocks and turn left. He's lived there about 25 years.


I feel that putting an animal to sleep is compassionate. I put our dog to sleep the year before my Dad was dying from congestive heart failure and liver & kidney failure from his medicines. The night before he died, I was talking to my Aunt, and I said "You can relieve your pet's suffering, but you can't do it for your human family, something is messed up". Don't get me wrong, I loved my Dad, but it was so hard to watch him suffer and not be able to do anything for him. Last year my Mom had a massive stroke. She had a living will that said no extraodinary measures so we watched for a week, not knowing if she was suffering or not, because she didn't make a sound after that. She had the stroke on Wednesday and died the next Tuesday. As much as I didn't want her to die, I knew she didn't want to live with the after effects of a stroke. Her oldest brother had a stroke and lived and watching what he went through scared her.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your dog. It is hard to lose a pet. I dont have any currently, but have had to put cats down in the past and when I left my apartment and moved with my now husband, I had to give up cats as his daughter is allergic. Wasn't it great to see the Phillies parade and Philadelphia - it was awesome. It is scary what goes on in schools. Glad things are okay. We need to keep our schools and world in our prayers. This is my favorite too. When I hear that some religions don't believe that animals are waiting for us in Heaven, my answer is that if my animals aren't there, then it won't be Heaven!

I totally agree! One of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes is about this very thing. Congrats on the new kitties!

HEY we're going to MVMCP on the 4th too! We get in that afternoon around 2pm & will just head over to MK at 4 when we can get in with our MVMCP tickets. I wasn't planning on doing MVMCP but my friend that I'm going with was just dying to go, so I said what the heck! It's so expensive to take a family of 4, so I might as well just do it by myself. My friend & I might split up, she wants to see the parade twice, fireworks, shows, characters - I just want to get on the rides!

I'm glad you're still going! DISMEET!!! BC...cool! I've only been there to see the Christmas displays, but it looks sooooo beautiful! I'd love to stay there one trip!

Oh Tara, you have got to see some of the shows. They are so cute! If you've never seen Night Before Christmas, it's worth the line. The show at the castle is good too. Well I should say what I saw of it. Rain cancelled it during the show last year. Fireworks? great!!

I just read some posts about FW cabins, which we will be staying in November. I am anxious to see how that is decorated for Christmas. I have never seen this area at Christmas. We are going to go see all of the Gingerbread houses and they are always so neat, and anxious for the rookie of the group to see the sights.
