So DH got his hotel assignment for the ASUG/Sapphire software conference in Disney 5/4-7. It's the Springhill Suites Orlando Convention Center which IS an Official Walt Disney World® Good Neighbor hotel. They have a free scheduled shuttle to the theme parks. That word scheduled makes me nervous. So I could fly & stay free, I'd just need park tickets. VERY tempting. My plan would be to leave the kiddos at home with my parents. I think I'd have major guilt for doing that though! Too bad Linda, that it's not the same time that you are going, so I'd have someone to hang out with!

Oh wow! That would've been great to meet up!! I think you should go! I'm sure you could meet up with others at that time! Never let a chance to go to Disney pass you by!! We'll have to try to meet another time!

I know I should jump on it but not being onsite or at S/D really has me wondering if I'll like not being able to come & go as I please (and no, I wouldn't want a rental car). I posted on the Orlando area hotels board to see if anyone knew how "scheduled" the scheduled theme park transporation was, but go no responses. I emailed the hotel & their response was that "complimentary transporation to & from the WDW Theme Parks is scheduled throughout the day & evening." I was looking for a little bit more specific info, like once a day to each park, twice a day, every 2 hours, etc. I'm also not sure I want to put up with DH & his convention co-workers - I've travelled with them 3 times before & this is their "party conference!" I'm too old to try & keep up with them - nor do I even want to!

Instead of emailing the hotel, I would just give them a call during the day, when the better staff works at hotels. Perhaps they could even mail you or get to you the schedule for the parks. It would be good to go on an adult only vacation, it is important to do those from time to time. Your kids will be fine with grandma, and lots of times grandparents do extra special things with the kids too. I would go for it. Even though the group that is going is not quite your speed, you would be able to have some quality time with DH wouldn't you? You could get your tickets through AAA if you are a member and they have good rates. I hope things are okay with your dad, and I will keep you and your dad in my prayers. Thanks tiggerfan4me! I'm really leaning towards going. My mom has the dates "pencilled in" to stay here with the kids,I have enough FF points to fly free, the room is paid for....I have to decide if I want to get a 3-day PH for $260, or just go for it & get an AP for $478. I do have roughly 200 Disney VISA rewards points I could put towards the tickets. Or food in the parks.....decisions decisions! Or I could get a 10-day PH no expiration for appx. $453 (and just use 3 days this trip) - that way if I don't get back within exactly 12 months I can use the extra 7 days whenever....and it's less than an AP....can you tell I'm OCD-ing about this??? Anyone ever do that - get no expiration PH passes rather than an AP? It is cheaper & then there's no stress to get back within 12 months (not that I wouldn't try!) And there's that whole scheduled shuttle issue.....I agree I should call the hotel directly tomorrow & if they don't know then tell them to go pick up the shuttle schedule & read it to me! I don't need to know the exact times for those dates....just a general idea if it's once a day, twice a day, every few hours, etc. As long as I can get to a park in the am from the hotel, then I can park hop using Disney transportation, then back to the hotel at night, I'm good. I don't usually see DH at all on these trips. He leaves the room by 7am & has scheduled events that end up lasting til the wee hours of the morning. I did ask if he could pencil me in for at least one evening & he said he would as long as there's no mandatory dinners or events.

Ok it looks like I've had waaaaaayyyyy too much coffee.......

I'm around dh is working too much I'm going insane. for the next week he's leaving at 5am and wont be home til midnight. We have ONE car. I am going to go off the deep end... someone give me strength or xanax (can I take that while pregnant??) Easter is 2 weeks away, I have nothing ready. I hate being one of those last min people Okay I'll stop complaining now. It doesn't do anyone any good right. Tara I hope you and your Dad's tests come back all fine! And to top it off I really think putting disney off by a month is going to happen.. its only a month right?? *sigh*

Hey Tara ! I think you should go with your DH in May. It's such a great time to go with the Flower and Garden Festival going on . We've gone the first week in May twice, once was really nice-low 80's, low humidty; this last time it was mid 90's and high humidity (not the norm for that time).

I HATE heat & humidity - but being alone in that will be better than with kids whining & hanging on me yet!

YOU guys are a riot, you could go in cogneto, then you still ar doing the solo thing, but hooking up with others. I did Solo once, but not at a good time in my life and right after DS started working in Disney so he couldn't take off. I would have liked to be able to meet up with some one. I know you will all have a good time whether solo or hooking up. Enjoy the flower spectacular. I hear it is beautiful.

Hedy Tara! We are doing a 4 day cruise, but we will be at the AKL 4/24-4/27 and then back at the cabins 5/1-5/3 ? I think those are the days Where is everyone else going to be??

Hi everyone from P.A I am from San Diego and will be out your way on Friday...can you tell me how cold it has been and will 2 heavy sweat shirts and a long sleeve shirt under neath them so will that be warm enough??????

WE will have gloves and will be spraying his outside sweatshirt with a waterproof spray ( it works great).....the weather here today was around 80 so we of course don't have much cloths for your weather so am trying to not spend to much for only 6 days. We are coming there for 3 and Washington for 3 days for a school field trip.

So what say you...will we be okay...
