I've never celebrated a birthday at WDW - hmmm...girls trip for next year maybe?? Anyone?!?!?!? Oh wait, my birthday is in June & I can't take the heat & humidity. Ok maybe a half year birthday girls trip?? Linda?? Fern?? Jessamy???? Anyone??

Ohhh that is very tempting! I've never celebrated my bday at Disney either (it's in Feb). I'd have to figure out childcare for Gray though, that would be the biggest issue. Definitely something to think about .

Here's how the conversation basically went -

CM: Hey you, over there!
DBF: Yes?
CM: What's your birthday?
DBF: What day?
CM: Yes, tell me the actual date of your birthday.
DBF: Umm...well...it's May 28...
CM: Aha! Today is the 30th. It's not your birthday.
ME: We are celebrating his birthday today - this is our first day here and-
CM: Why don't you come back next year when it really is your birthday??

So, I guess be prepared to lie if they ask and then you'll be OK.

I've been there Jessamy - when the kids get older it gets easier. Mine are both in school all day & my parents are in Macungie - so one of them just sleeps here, gets them on the bus, then comes back at 4pm for the night. Or DH just works from home those days. He's doing that for the upcoming trip to stay here with DS10, while DS7 & I head to the World!! Yahoo! 5 weeks from Thursday!

Wouldn't that be neat - a girls only PA DIS Trip! Maybe next year...

Y'all just missed a little PA DIS trip. First weekend of Food & Wine
We had a great time. We maybe doing it again next October. We left on Saturday, came back home on Tuesday evening. Just the right amount of time.
Tara, are your parent's in "downtown Macungie"? Although I have an Orefield mailing address, I live in Upper Macungie. Go figure! My Best Friend lives in Lower Mac. I am hoping to talk her into coming with us next year.
My kids are old enough to be self sufficient to get on the bus. At least I think they are. Next October, my oldest will be in college

Hey - I'm a June "baby", too. Keep me posted - sounds fun, but I agree, not when it is too hot!!!! A girls trip sounds awesome, although hubby might be VERY jealous!!!!!!

Disney doesn't care that its not your "real birthday" disney knows that people can't always get there on their actual birthday dates so come and enjoy your day and please don't let any of the unpleasant people who might make you think otherwise feel uncomfortable.

Thank you Poohbear! I hope we will be able to and not get reprimanded for it. I will plan on celebrating her birthday on the 17th. She will be exactly 5 1/2 years old, so that is somewhat of a birthday! LOL.

P.S. I am probably going through AAA. Do I just tell the agent that we will be celebrating her birthday then, and Disney will do what they do when they hear that? Or do I have to call someone directly to let them know there will be a birthday celebration?

The only problem is that when Gray is old enough to be in school, I'll be back teaching so no low season vacations for us anymore . DH's parents live 5 min away so they'd be great babysitters, I just don't think they'll ever decide to retire .

How is your family holding up after the funeral? I hope everyone is managing OK.

Nope they're not in downtown Macungie (LOL) - they're over in Wild Cherry Knoll off of Lower Macungie Road. They moved there about 3 years ago from the big metropolitan of New Smithville! Orefield must span a large area - growing up I went to Northwestern - and part of Orefield was in our district.

I am SO THERE if you guys go to Food & Wine again next year!

We're hanging in there, trying to get my FIL into a routine now that he's alone. Thanks for asking!

Maybe we should all "pencil in," in our heads anyway, a F&W girls trip next year? Even just 3 nights works for me. You're right Jessamy - try & take advantage now before you go back to teaching!
