Hi!

I'm originally from PA. I grew up in Canton. I also lived in Trappe and Lansdale for a little while. I live in Chicago, IL, now and am extremely homesick! I will be home for a short trip in September.

PA native as well, Lansdale, now living in Orlando, but moving back home as soon as I can sell my house. I love living in Orlando, but we are missing family way too much!!!

I am sooo jealous!! I would give anything to move back to PA, but DH is a Chicago native. However, being back in the city may just be the nudge I need t move him back to PA. The city is making him realize just how much he loved the country. Once you get back, stop by New Hope Winery and have a glass of their sangria for me!!

I love New Hope and that whole area. I worked in Bedminster/Bridgewater NJ for several years and drove through that area daily!

I hate to admit that I do miss the changing seasons, and changing landscapes - PA really has so much to offer within day trip distance. We still love Disney (not at all why we moved to Orlando), but it's time for my DD to see some other parts of the country, and we don't ever seem to have the opportunity to travel now that we are here!

I am hoping to get our house sold and moved back in time for DD to start school in Sept. Things are picking up a bit in real estate in my area. If not we will go whenever it happens. I work from home, so my job is transferrable with no issues - in fact they will be happy to have me back in the NE!

My real estate agent/neighbor is originally from Chicago and he wants to move back so back, but his wife does not want to leave!

There was one PA (Philly to be exact) thread that was started a few weeks ago, that I think was the beginning of my homesickness - there are so many thing unique to the area that "outsiders" don't get!

My Mom retired to orlando in 93, in 96 she was back home to good old Pa.
Maybe we could switch house this winter!

Absolutely!! Thank you so much! I can't get over the dislike for the East Coast here in Chicago. It's almost as bad as the dislike of Northerners in North Carolina (where I lived for a little while). Funny thing is, I don't remember having a dislike or knowing anyone who had a dislike for any particular area of our country. I find it very odd.

I'm sure if your realtor moved back to Chicago and continued to be a realtor, he would make out like a bandit. We are renting a 1000 square feet apartment with no yard for more than our mortgage on our 1900 square feet house on 5 acres in NC. I found a beautiful home in my hometown of Canton. It was a four bedroom farm with house, garage, barn and inground pool set on 187 acres for $250,000!!! We can barely buy a one bedroom condo (without parking or yard) for that in Chicago. It's ridiculous.

I am missing PA more by the day!

My DH is a BEARS fan. He has been since he was little.
A couple of weeks ago we were at a PHILLIES game and the BEER guy said to everyone "who let this guy in here" of course everyone started chanting EAGLES. My Dh had wore his super bowl shirt the kids bought him for his birthday to the PHILLIES game.
