We arrived back yesterday.Feel much better than I did re. jet lag last year not sure why!

DD age 16 and me loved New York,Mattie and DH didn't really enjoy it so much.Being cooped up in a hotel room didn't work out and Mattie's behaviour really deteriorated:( I told DD we'd go back on our own in a couple of years. After how unsettled Mattie was in a city break with one change of accomdation (NY to Orlando) we have decided there is no way we would go to California next year,we cannot chance the same thing happening again. We will hopefully go to Orlando though so I'm too sad about it.I have alreday e-mailed Bon Voyage to ask about changing the booking, not sure if we will lose the deposit we had on the California flights?

The flight to Orlando was outstanding with Jet Blue and would highly reccomend them for an internal flight. The cab dropped us of at the Jet Blue terminal at JFK you check in there and then on the kerb.In the terminal were the nicest restaurants I have ever seen at an airport. The aircrafts seats were bigger with more leg room than Virgin economy and al the seats had seat back TV,drinks and snacks included.

We stayed in the same villa as llast year on Windsor Palms and loved it there.the villa ,the Windsor Palms resort, where it was etc.

Mattie's behaviour didn't settle down unfortunately until 4 days before the end of the holiday:rolleyes: I think if we hadn't gone to NY first it wouldn't have happened but don't regret that as DD got so much out of it.

Highlights

Manatee swim with Fun2Dive and Captain Detrick

Jet ski and raft ride at Buena Vista watersports as reccomended by Stu,I wish we'd done it years ago.In fact we went there twice!

Day at Central Park,on rowing on a desterted beautiful boating lake, seeing the people with thier remote control boats, haing a hot chocolate in the lovely cafe, seeing the Strawberry Fields memorial to John Lenon

Empire State Building.Mattie has only just overcome his fear of lifts and we were amazed he actually went in the lift here, very brave of him.

So pleased to see you home safe and sound again my friend and that you, mostly, had a fantastic holiday.

New York is just wonderful isn't it and I'm so thrilled that Mattie enjoyed the Empire State, I'm still amazed I managed to get up there!!

The Buena Vista watersports sounds great - tell me more, tell me more!!

Speak to you soon.

Hi Kaz

Welcome home! It seems like you've been gone ages!

Glad New York was enjoyed by you and DD....and sounds like the water sports was good too!

Welcome back!

Glad you had such a fab time - what a shame that Mattie didn't get as much out of NY as DD.... but what a fantastic achievement for him to get up the Empire State building!

Hope your plans for next year work out. Fingers crossed for you.
