Hi Ho Hi Ho It's Down 95 we Go

Ed, we both passed that mark, more than a decade ago.

Yes, I knew that.

Love ya both, Mike. ED

Now Sunday was a day of significant discovery. None of it on the joy producing kind. Frustration was the order of the day.
Due to misreading the current policy regarding the need for reservations with AP's. We were denied entry into Magic Kingdom. Not the end of the world, and we came back to Conestoga Trail. Our intent was take care of the Golf Cart.
It only took a few minutes to see we had a new problem to deal with. None of our existing decorations could be secured in the manner and locations we had been using for the last few years. On top of that the connection cables for the new inverter we got to use and power the lights we added. They came out of the box looking like they had been at ABBY GATE. I tried to adapt them some more and they blew out the inverter.
Lucille came up with an idea to 2 wide red sashes we have to tie the Garland to the roof. It might have worked for a trip but not under any stress.
We then spent time searching the interweb for a new inverter. Amazon promise of overnight deliver disappeared when we gave the forts address for delivery. I did find one at the Kissimmee Home Depot so I ordered it for pick up the next day. ( Good excuse to got to the Good Mommy and Daddy Club )

@FtW Mike next time you run into that, here is the quick hack. Reserve another park, go through the turn styles, head back out and go to MK. As long as park hopping is open, you are in. We had to do that while we where there. Bonus, rode the monorail to and from Epcot to do that so that was an adventure.

Monday it was off to HD after the club . After I placed the order for the inverter the web site I membered they also offered Zip Ties ( I have plenty, but in some of the larger sizes, ie 11 + inches), Spring clamps were also available here, but before I committed to them, I needed to see what sizes they offered. In the end I opted for 12, 1 in. and 6, 4 in. clamps thinking the I wouldn't need more than that for the Garland and lights we had with us.
Once I got back and updated Lucille on what I thought was a better set up than what we had, we got to work. First we secured the garland. The piece that crossed the front was clamped at the corners of the canopy. Then the free ends at the rear were clamped as well. The 4 inch ones were used. Next, we removed the Sash Ribbons we had tied around the canopy to secure the garland. The mid point of each resulting droop was selected and again clamped to the rim of the canopy. Next the lights were clamped to the Valance of the foul weather canopy with the 1-inch clamps. The new inverter was hooked up to the battery and the lights tested. Happily they all worked.

We used the old standby of Bungee Cords to attach the wreaths to the front grill and zip ties for the rear handrail. Zip ties worked well for the candy canes and rear seat wreaths as well.
For the center piece of it all " The greatest Christmas present I ever had or would ever receive", My OFFICIAL RED RYDER 200 SHOT RANGE MODEL CARBINE AIR RIFLE WITH A COMPASS IN THE STOCK AND THING THAT TELLS TIME. Wouldn't go on, prominently displayed across the windshield, till just before show time. The HENNY GOLF CART DECORATING SERVICE had once again done it's magic..

Tuesday Christmas Eve started with Breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. While the food was good the antics were lacking. Leaving me highly disappointed. After returning to our site we did the last-minute fine tuning of the cart before heading for the assembly point and The 2024 Fort Wilderness Holiday Golf Cart parade.
Mousesteps.com has it and we appear the 4 min 30 sec. to 38 sec run time.

Christmas day was a very laid-back day for us. I was dis appointed Ed did not show up for the traditional Scrapple and Pancakes breakfast I make. After that we took the girls out for a little Day Time Looping. That was followed by watching the immortal " A CHRISTMAS STORY".
Traditional type Christmas dinners of Turkey, stuffing, mashed potato's have become a very difficult thing to find. We opted for the Hoop De Doo Revue instead. The Show as always was great. The addition of some Christmas songs is a great touch.

Christmas day was also the day I shared the front seat of the golf cart with Katie for what I suspect was the last time. The problems with her hips have been progressively worsening. Getting up on the seat was getting harder, getting comfortable harder still. It somehow scares me that she has gone from, this is fun.

TB, I bet they are visiting the 55yo+communities in the area and planning which one to migrate to in the coming winters. Decisions, decisions .....

Thanks for the update.
