The Cast

Jackie (36) Disney addict and chief organiser - Could sit in Disney all day watching the world go by if the kids would let me

Brian -DH (39) Shares my love of Disney and works very hard all year to fund our obsession - Doesn't do rollercoasters and not fond of flying but loves BTM.

Molly -DD (7) Collects pins and cuddlies. Always has a soft toy under her arm. Loves Star Tours and Phantom Manor

Lewis- DS (5) The whirlwind of the family. Loves Pirates and BTM - cant wait to go on Crush

Granny - Kids love their Granny to come with us and we have a built in babysitter

Granda - Great for taking the kids swimming and he comes on the coasters with me

Auntie Rosie - Rosie is my Auntie and has never been abroad before. She stayed with my Granda and nursed him though a tough battle which he lost in May.

Woke up at 8am with a strange spring in my step:rolleyes:. Today was the day we were off to DLP for 7 whole days. The only thing concerning me slightly was the weather as the forecast was very mixed but I planned for every situation so what could go wrong ;)

We were all in the car by 10.30am and headed off on our 60 mile journey to Aberdeen airport where we were meeting my mum,dad and auntie. We arrived in plenty time and waited and waited. Finally got a call from dad to ask where we were. He had ended up in some car park we couldn't get out of because someone had stuck their credit card into the
barrier machine:eek: . Anyway we all arrived and went to drop off our bags as DH had done online check in and printed off our boarding cards but Aberdeen wanted us to join the regular queue which we did. Dropped our bags eventually and then went for some lunch. 4 cheese sandwiches, a beer and 3 soft drinks cost £20.25. Time was wearing on and I wanted a quick look in Duty Free so we queued for security. Got to the front and our pre printed boarding cards would not scan as we had used inferior paper:eek: so back to check in for proper boarding cards. No time for Duty Free as the gate was open when we got through. Boarded the flight, took off on time to Heathrow to catch our connecting flight. Arrived on time and made our dash between terminal 1 to terminal 4. So far so good:thumbsup2 .Sat at gate 4 then shifted to gate 21. Departure supposed to be 16.55pm but didn't board until 17.30pm them sat on the runway until 18.55pm. DH switched on mobile to let RS transport know we would be late and they had already left a voice message to say they had noted our new arrivel time(very impressed).

Arrived in CDG late and tired and waited for our 7 bags while mum took kids to the toliet. We waited and waited and soon realised they were not coming. Panic struck and went to the desk to be told they were still in Heathrow:headache: . All 7 of them . We were given a reference number, had to describe the bags and were told that the would be delivered to our hotel between 8am and 4pm at the latest. So off we set tired and annoyed to find our transport which were waiting for us.

Had a quick transfer to The Explorers and check in was quick. The small shop was closed by this time so I couldnt pick up a toothbrush or even something to sleep in but our cases would be with us in the morning so we could slum it for a night:eek:

Had a pizza and then off to bed exhausted dreaming of toothbrushes and clean knickers:rotfl:

to be continued................. surely things can only improve

What a day!!!

But these are the stories you always tell later on and when you get back it will be something to laugh about (even if not funny now)

hell will swap you my place on the sofa with my wardrobe for your luggageless location right now!!!

have a wonderful time!

Karenxx

Great to see the start of your trippie. You were in our thoughts all through our holiday as we remembered your post about the suitcases :grouphug:

Looking forward to reading the rest of your reports :)

Great start Jackie. :goodvibes

I agree, it's probably still a bit too fresh at the moment but I'm sure one day you will be able to laugh about this ~ at least you will have a funny tale to tell your grandchildren one day! ;) :rotfl2:

I was just wondering...did BA give you any kind of compensation regarding the loss of your luggage ? Did they finally all arrive ?

The least they could do should be to give you free tkts to Paris !! Maybe you should ask..??:rolleyes1 You never know !!

A lovely start Jackie, can't wait to read more (although I did follow your suitcase saga on another thread).

Jackie, what did you think of BS transport. We've booked them for next Sunday so I'd appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

Mike

Fantastic :thumbsup2 We have used them 4 time now and they are always prompt and very helpful. Have a great time Mike :cool1:

A busy & tiring day! shame about your suitcases;)

do you know what BS transport is. or is it RS both are mentioned above but maybe a typo We are going on 1st trip to DLRP next wed. but unsure how to get from CDG to Explorers. Also I'm a bit worried cos have booked character meals but have been told they'rea terrible because everyone jumps about and no-one waits for the characters to go round the tables. Please tell me it isn't so. One of our boys is autistic, has tourettes and a severe anxiety disorder Thought the meals would be the way to go for character meets jist like in fab WDW

do you know what BS transport is.

You'll find there link in the Very Useful Sticky in the travel section.
They are a private shuttle company that offer an alternative way of travelling from CDG to DLP rather than VEA shuttle or TGV :)
