Children seem to be able to handle extreme weather. Not me, I stay where it's cool! Glad he only has a few more days to go.

My son has baseball camp this week. They have be playing ball from 9am-3pm in this heat (100 degrees today) My poor baby. He absolutely loves it & the weather is not getting to him but I just wish this was not the one week he goes to camp.. He is training with the Mets. He met Ed Cranepool today who gave the kids some baseball instruction. Daniel was very excited. I must admit I really didn't know who he was until I checked it out. Anyway Dan has bb camp tom'w thru Friday so he has 3 more days of this..Friday the heat wave is supposed to be over here. I guess it's good getting him acclimated to Florida weather.we wil be in Disney in 20 days!

Glad to see most everyone has found "us" & that we are chatting away as usual.

I just found the old thread blocked, but was happy to find a new one with 20 pages already posted. I for one promise to play nicely. I don't know how I'd sleep at night if I can't check in with my "family" first.

I was reading this thread while eating, yep you guessed it a reese's peanut butter cup. The good news is that I found some low carb ones so they aren't as bad as they could be I'd call you all enablers, but I was eating it before I read this

Cassidy made it through her first day of band camp in the heat. I am really worried though for tomorrow and Thursday, as they are 9-9 days....you are reading that right 12 hour MARCHING band days. Thursday will be a bit longer as she has to pick up her registration packet at 8:30 in the morning.

I would ask that you all send pixie dust this way that it would be relatively cool and not rain on them, please!

for Cassidy, and anyone else that has to be out on this heat. This is always the time of year you hear those awful stories of kids getting dangerously sick from doing stuff outside.

Lynn, how are your boys faring at football practice?

There was a boy here in Metro Atlanta today that died at football practice. I hope Lynn's boys do ok in pads. It is too hot for these kids to be exerting that kind of energy in full gear.

Hi all. I'm still feeling rotten. I called the doctor and told her that after a week on the horse pills and no improvement, I wanted a Z-pack. She ordered one, so hopefully I will start to feel better in a couple of days. I'm seriously considering using another of my puny sick days tomorrow. I literally feel like I'm dragging myself around by the collar. I slept for a couple of hours after I got home (sent Melanie to pick up the prescription). Don't have much of an appetite. What do you all think of Kozy Shack rice pudding for dinner, followed by vanilla ice cream for a snack? That's what seems to appeal to me.
