Hi from a single dad in Georgia!

Hi everyone! I am a recently single dad trying to stand on my own again. I have been to both Disney World and Disneyland alot. I try to go every year, mostly to WDW because I can drive. It is my favorite place to go and nothing feels more right for me when I am there with my son. I am taking him down in Feburary for his 7th birthday. This will be the first time without his mother. She never really liked Disney the way I did/ do. So I am taking my son down for my piece of mind after a long time of unhappiness. I am hoping to find others in my situation and maybe someone who loves Disney the way I do. Anyway, Hi! BTW, I love the Pirates of the Caribbean!

I'm sure you'll have a great time with your son. I was able to take my youngest for his 5th Birthday. The two of us had a blast. No big brothers to pick on him.

Go buddy!! I'm another Disney loving cop here... Watch out on this board! There are some Disney loving women who are, um... interested.. in a single cop who loves Disney.

I am a military vet and and have been in law enforcement for 15 years. People don't expect people like me to like Disney as much as I do. I guess I don't fit that tough guy mold. Thank you all for the warm welcome! Iam glad I found this site

as the Mother of a cop myself I can tell you there is nothing worng with you being a cop and loving Disney....as adults it's just fine to always be a kid at heart....I work in Geriatrics and most don't understand how a granny can still love to go 1-2 times a year!!! Have a magical trip!!!

You would be amazed at the cops who are into Disney World. Ask around.. I work with 5 or 6 who go every year. I think part of the reason is that it's a happy, nice, safe place. I don't have to worry about someone trying to sell me drugs (apparently, I don't look like a cop when I'm in Mexico), I don't have to pass the guys begging in the street, I don't have to worry about getting a designated driver. It's a complete break from reality. I can go on vacation and let my guard down a little bit.

I agree,I don't have to worry and I can let down my guard alittle and just worry about getting to dinner on time

Oh. You will have so much fun. I took my 7yo son for his 4yo birthday. we had a great time. make sure everyone knows it is his birthday and he will get special treatment! Also have you seen the new Pirate rooms at Caribbean Beach resort? Looks like a really cool place to stay.
