We made out really well here in Baton Rouge. We only lost power for six hours so we were VERY lucky. We never had much standing water either. We did have some smaller limbs fall, but nothing serious. A house a block away from us had a tree basically cut the house in half, so we are feeling very lucky. We just got our cable back on today so we have access to the net, which is a good thing because our cells are having lots of problems...I can't even call my own voicemail.
Our families are all okay. Many back in our hometown still do not have power, so they are pretty miserable, but other than that they are doing fine. We are so lucky.
I did have to go to the ER Monday night. I got sick on friday and just never got any better...couldn't keep anything down, fever, dehydration, etc. I ended up getting a few shots and an IV. Doing much better now.
I did go back to work today, but we really don't know what the courts are going to do. Our New Orleans office was likely destroyed so they will probably be relocating to our office for the time being. So sad.
Things are just very sad around here. I think lots of us feel guilty. I know we didn't do anything wrong, but still feel guilty.
