Hello everyone! We are going for a short trip to WDW in April. We will only be there 2 days and wanted to make the most of it. Our daughter is almost 6 and I don't even know where to begin. Even though she has about 40 Disney movies, most are long and she hasn't been able to watch most of them. She is crazy about Jasmine. (she is adopted from India and people think she looks like Jasmine!) Any advice on how to make the most of the short time there? I thought 2 days of Magic Kingdom might do it. (I don't really understand the park and how it works. I grew up going to 6 Flags over Texas and you paid one admission and could go all over the park from opening to closing.) Any advice would so appreciated.

Thanks!!

The park pass for MK works the same way as Six Flags. You pay for admission and can ride any ride, see any exhibit or attraction as many times as you want. MK is a good choice for a 6 year old. She will recognize all the Disney characters, and there are rides geared toward younger children. You might want to purchase the Passporter guide book. It is a great planning tool and has detailed descriptions of all the attractions.
Have a great time!:thumbsup2

My best advice is to extend your trip if at all possible. Magic Kingdom is a must, but the other parks have so much to offer. My kids actually prefer Epcot over MK. The ticket price per day is also cheaper if you buy more days. If you can't extend then I would get a Passporter or an Unofficial Guide to Disney and read over what the MK has to offer so you can make some type of plan. Also, are you planning on staying on site or off? When in April are you going?

I know my opinion doesn't answer your question, but....................

April is considered one of the highest attendance times. That means really long waits for everything. If you could possible change your time that you are going, I think you would enjoy Disney much more.

If you gave my girls two days in Orlando, they would pick Magic Kingdom and Sea World.

HELLO THERE FELLOW NORTH CAROLINIAN. I would say two days at MK that time of year will be very crowded. That means that two days would probably be the amount of time needed to do everything at the Magic Kingdom. (actually probably more time than is necessary but one day might not cut it). So two days at Magic Kingdom is probably your best choice unless you can extend your stay or change the time.

You have a lot to do in 2 days in aprill I agree with all about switching times and all but if you cant do your best you will enjoy most the smile on her face and if you get out early and dont waste time on things like stitch and the likes you will enjoy yourself and she will too. Bring her back as soon as you can for an extended stay.

Another NC'er here!

Definitely get a guide book and look through all there is to do at MK. Make a list of all your must-dos and must-sees. Also pay attention to what rides have fast pass(where you get a ticket to come back later and not stand in the long line) You will need to get to MK around an hour before official opening. The park will open before that time. When it opens, go straight to the ride that was most important to your daughter that does not have fastpass. AFter you get off, move quickly to the next one on your list. If you are able to get in 3-4 of the "hot" rides first thing, your day will be much more enjoyable.

I would do a character meal. I am sure Cinderella's breakfast has no space, but maybe the lunch or dinner does. Crystal Palace at MK is also a good choice(Pooh and friends) You can get a lot of character interaction during those meals.

If you have time for another park, Epcot or AK would be good choices for a 6 year old.

If you only have 2 days...I would definitely stick to the MK with a 6 year old. There are so many fun things to see and do. I would do at least one character meal...at Cinderella's Castle, 1900 Park Fare (at the Grand Floridian Hotel...easy monorail ride from MK) or the Crystal Palace. You get a nice meal and guaranteed character interaction for your child.

Don't miss Mickey's PhilharMagic...a 3-D show that my kids love. Also Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

If you have time to make it to another park my kids LOVE Animal Kingdom...going on the Kilamanjaro Safari, Kali River Rapids....even just digging for dinosaur bones in DinoLand.

Have a great trip! No matter what you decide to do, I"m sure your daughter will have a magical experience! Do plan on doing research on each of the parks/rides so that you can decided what you most want to do and plan accordingly. With only 2 days you want to make sure you don't miss the things you really want to do/see.
