Hi everyone! Brand new here! We are staying in a 2 BR Boardwalk Villa in August, whole family is going including my 2 year old grandson! We are celebrating his B-Day in Disney. Anything anyone can tell me about the Villa's or visiting w/a toddler would be appreciated! Been to Disney about 10x's over the past years, but never to this hotel or on vacation with a toddler!

Thanks everyone! :cool1:

Nice to meet everyone! This board is great, got lots of really good tips here. Has anyone been to BWV recently? I requested a pool/playground view, what do you think my chances are of getting it? We are celebrating my Grandson's 2nd B-Day in Disney, anyone have any special tricks to make this really special? Thanks!
:cheer2: :yay: :cheer2:

Welcome! No special tips I can think of to make it extra special. Sorry. One tip I would give that worked for us is to try and stick with the two year olds schedule as much as possible. i.e naps, meals and bedtime Also, take some snacks, juice boxes, etc into the parks. It is a great thing to have to help when waiting in line at rides or restaurants.

Our kids were not great sleepers in the stroller at that age so we went back to the room for naps every day. I think it made our trip so easy because we never had any melt downs from tired kids (I had three toddlers at the same time). Also, bedtime stayed fairly consistent. If the kids seemed tired at bedtime, which they usually did, we went back to the room to go to bed.

We have never stayed at the BWV, but have stayed twice at BCV and love, love love:love: the location. Have a fabulous time!

I'll try to think of some more tips.

First then me welcome you to DISboards! I'm new here too.
I've never been to to the Boardwalk Villa, but I wish I did.

Welcome to the Dis!!!

One of my main tips for traveling with a 2 year old is go at their pace and watch their face a lot!!! Seeing Disney through the eyes of a child so young is just amazing!!!

What a great way to celebrate your DGS 2nd birthday. In October, we're celebrating our DGD first birthday @ WDW. Her Mother, my DD, is obsessing about which princess dress is most suitable for her little girl. My DD and I are certified Disney fanatics---the boys just tag along for the ride. :goodvibes

When my DGS was 2 1/2, I chronicled his Disney trip with a Disney scrapbook filled with photos, mementos, etc. He LOVES his book and it's helped him remember his trip. He's 4 now and can pretty well articulate what he wants to do at WDW---he remembers a lot--thanks to the scrapbook. Be sure to take LOADS of photos.:wizard:

By the way, welcome to the DISboard--I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I do.:flower3:

I know that Disney will do special things at the restaurants for B-Days but you can also call from your room for a bedtime story. Since he will be two he might be a little young for the pirate adventure but you can always check it our or one of the meals at the Crystal Palace, Winnie the Pooh character meals.
pirate: :tigger:

Have fun and post when you get back, we are considering the Broadwalk Villa for a magical gathering in '09 and none of us have stayed there before.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions, I am so looking forward to seeing my grandson's face the first time we walk into the gates at Magic Kingdom, one of the few words he speaks clearly is "OH WOW" I think he will be doing that quite a bit that week. We have reservations at Chef Mickey's for his actual B-Day celebration, Only thing I am really nervous about having to do with a 2 year old is dining out in a place other than character dining. He really doesn't sit long in a High chair or boster, so we might be eating in shifts....

only 19 Days! I am so excited. Hopefully there will be lots of 2year olds staying at the Boardwalk villas and he will have some playmates!!
