Since I just joined, I thought I'd say hi to everyone. I've spent a lot of time traveling solo many places for most of my life, but never really considered WDW for a solo trip before. Over a decade of great trips there with my daughter (now off into her adult life), and while I love WDW I have always been leery of a solo trip there for many reasons. Reading some of the postings here and seeing the support of the group that has been displayed has given me pause with that, so I'm going to be planning a weekend gig at some point over the next year and I have you guys to thank for that.

Yay!! So glad you're going to be booking a solo trip, they're so much fun!!!

I'm hoping so. I've learned the hard way that not all trip types work well solo, but I had been thinking of a Disney solo trip for a while before coming across the disboards. I'm looking forward to giving Fort Wilderness a try with the camper over a long weekend and seeing how things go... ;)

Curious what trip types don't work well solo? I'm thinking a Sandals Resort vacation, maybe. Lol. I've traveled all over the world solo, but funnily never at Disney. I would in a heartbeat though.

Yeah, Sandals would also qualify... Lol. In this case I was referring to doing some off-road motorcycling. For safety reasons foremost, but also because off-roading (for me) has become a much more social activity over the years. I still do many long street bike trips solo, but for some reason the off-roading scene for me has become very much about the social/camping aspect. I'll still do an occasional camp/ride solo, but it's one activity that is an order of magnitude more fun with a small group of good friends.

Enjoy! Traveling solo is AWESOME! You get to set your own pace and itinerary - and have the freedom to change on a whim without having to consult anyone else! :)

Just wanted to say welcome & enjoy your trip!

It took some getting used to for me personally but I look forward to my solo trips & taking it all in at my own pace!
