Thought I would just pop in and say hello . My DD and I are about to book our 7th trip to DLRP . After our trip of a lifetime to Florida we now find ourselves suffering from Disney withdrawal symptoms LOL, so, the planning commences for Paris which we love.

My first of many questions is ..... what is the Santa Fe really like ? My DD and I both have joint problems and we do sometimes need to take a break from the park and have a rest in our room would it be better to spend more money on say the Sequoia Lodge ?

Thanks

We stayed at Santa Fe this time, and that's going to be the last. The hotel is a good if you have small children. It's also walking distance from the parks ( that takes about 10-15 min) But we like a bit of luxury and you don't get that there. So I would say go for Sequoia, it's a beautiful hotel with a nice bar area, if you want to relax at the hotel and it's closer to the parks. It's worth the extra cash!

It depends really - for a budget b&b, santa fe can't really be beaten, but there is no doubt that the theming isn't great, especially in communal areas like the bar and la cantina - think bad spanish resort. However, if you only use the restaurant for breakfast, and you only want a place to return to in the afternoon for a rest and for sleeping at night, then it is fine - and it is actually a really lovely (if a bit long, around 15-20 mins) walk to the parks along the river.

If you want a bit more bang for your buck, I would definitely recommend the Sequoia. In my opinion, it rates as a 4 star hotel, rooms are a bit bigger, closer to the parks, lovely surroundings and generally much nicer theming. But be warned! At peak times the breakfast is pretty chaotic, not even as bad as Santa Fe IMO!

Depends on your budget, but have a look at prices - IMO, if the difference is £100-150, go for SL :)

Ooh, I know this feeling sooooo well! :rotfl:

I've not stayed at either but I always think the Sequoia Lodge does look lovely, also it's got a pool.

Did you do a trippie for your trip of a lifetime? We just had ours last year and it gave me (and all the readers apparently!!) so much pleasure doing the trippie that I can't wait to do one when we go to DLRP in March. We are taking the Grandkids for their first Disney experience and I am every bit as excited as when we were going to America, even though it's only for 4 days & 3 nights. Have you stayed at Sequoia Lodge?

In your circumstances I would definitely recommend the Sequoia Lodge. I have stayed both there and the Santa Fe. SF is fine for budget stay where you will be out all day, but if you are thinking of returning for a rest then SL is closer and nicer and worth the extra money IMO.

Never stayed at Santa Fe but SL is definitely our favourite. It just feels so warm and lovely inside...

Enjoy it!
