A couple of years ago when they had The Thing house, we were walking through and in one of the really dark areas somebody grabbed onto my ankle and I had to kick the hand to make it let me go. and it was definitely a hand because I felt the fingers when they grabbed me. it freaked me out because that has never happened before. I'm still trying to figure out WTH was going on. somebody got behind a curtain, laying on the floor playing tricks? surely a cast member didn't do it but somebody's hand got kicked really hard that night. anyways, just thought I would share. happy horror nights y'all. :)

Hmm.. it might've just been Thing..

I can't say any of the scareactors have ever touched me in the past. But they don't usually go after me much since I'm 6'2" and about 260 or so. ;)

They are not allowed to touch you so that would be very unusual because the scareactor would lose his/her job over that. There is accidental touching because of the darkness etc. but there should not be intentional grabbing. At Howl-O-Scream last year a scareactor accidentally popped DH in the face pretty good. We could tell it was an accident but the poor guy was apologizing all over the place and we kept reassuring him it was no big deal.

The only exceptions I've seen is when people wear Vault and other fan site shirts and also on the last night (last year I got chainsawed in the chest on the very last night at closing time and patted on the head by the wolfman).

I'm thinking this was not a CM doing this, but a guest hiding trying to play some sick twisted trick. no doubt about it, someone grabbed my ankle (I felt the fingers) and I had to kick myself free. I really wish I had reported it, but I didn't.
I know at the Atrox factory (Birmingham) things touch you, but I've never grabbed before. esp. on the ankle.

I've been touched by the scareactors before, but never been outright grabbed. Most of the time they touch me very lightly, and it's always been in the scarezones, never in a house, or someone with a chainsaw touches me with it. :scared1: But I thought touching guests was illegal during halloween events?

It doesn't bother me that much being touched, but if someone grabs me and won't let go, well they risk losing that hand. I'm sure somebody went home with a big bruise that night because I kicked them pretty hard. and yes, I do believe it is illegal to grab the guests. the guests should remember its not okay to grab the scare actors or other guests either.. . if you must leach onto the person ahead of you, maybe you should stay out of the houses. someone pretending to be a scaredy cat might just be a pick pocket or pervert.

I don't think it's illegal (unless done in a way that would qualify as assault), but rather a matter of liability. Look at all the Disney lawsuits over supposed inappropriate touching by characters. I'm sure that's why the guy at Howl-O-Scream was so worried. He hit DH pretty hard, even though totally unintentional, so we could have made a big stink about it if we were jerks. But as I see it, we're in a dark house where people jump out at you so we assume the risk of someone not seeing properly or misjudging...no big deal. It gave us something to laugh about as another of our many Halloween memories. Unfortunately a lot of people do not see it the same way when they think they can get a pay-off.

That is so right on. several years back Woody Woodpecker came up behind me and I kid you not, put his hand up under my arm and I'm not saying he copped a feel, but his hand touched one of my "girls". yeah, I know, thick costume, yada yada, but I thought it was hilarious. it really takes a lot to make me mad.

I've never been touched unintentionally in a house, sometimes I might brush up against a scareactor or something like that but I've never been grabbed.

Every year when my sister-in-law goes with me to HHN, she swears that in the really dark areas of the houses, she sometimes feels someone touching her (well-formed) breasts.

I tell her that because it's dark, and she might just be bumping in to the person in front of her, or the scareactor accidentally touched her.

This happens even when it isn't me trying to sneak in a squeeze, so I think the accidental touching is just something that happens.
:rotfl:
