Hhn ?

Hi I just found out that we are going to Universal from Oct 15-19 and someone posted that it is during Halloween Horror Nights. Can someone give me information about it? I saw some pics on it on Universal's site and am concerned it may freak my 6 year old out! Thanks!

HHN is a separately ticketed event. It's going to be at IOA again this year. If IOA is scheduled to close at 5 or 530p, it's an even night.

During HHN, most attractions are open, plus they have haunted houses, scareactors (some with chainsaws, some with other means) all over the place. The whole feel is totally different.

As for your 6 y/o, it depends. If (s)he can watch scary/horror movies and not be scared, then it wont be a problem. Otherwise, there is the possibility of it being too intense. It's a lot of fun, though.

frankiemom, My husband and I went to HHN for the first time last year. It was so much fun and we are going to go again hopefully with friends.

But speaking only for my family and just to give you an idea, there is no way my kids could handle that night! They would be too afraid. They watched the video we took and said they didn't want to go. My kids are 10, 7 and 4.

We went on a Sunday night and only saw a handful of young kids(under 8). HTH

My wife and I went last year and loved it, but I would definately not take my girls, who are 8 and 6. I think it would be way to intense for them, and there is a lot of alcohol there and unfortunately some don't handle it all that well (stupidness, vulgarities, etc,)

12 seems to be a good age for kids. My 12 year old daughter went last year and we had a great time. If they're really into scary stuff, then 10 might be ok but 12 seems to be a good age.

Maybe the wife could stay in the room with the 6 year old while you go. Or you could look in to day care at the hotel.

The good news, is that during the week, crowds are light. But at night it gets packed. So if you want to do HHN, be in the park before the event at the Enchanted Oak restaurant.
