HHN Touring: A Guide to max out your experience/minimize your waits

Let me see if I have this right...

SnS plan of attack...

First house we are taken to is Legendary Truth (What time is this?)

Then you say Psycho opens later... what about HADES? Would that be the logical second house, and then by then Psychoscarapy would be open?

I prefer not to zig zag, and we do have express passes...

After those houses we would head over to Zombiegeddon and perhaps see bill and ted...

Last house for us would be Hallowed Past...

Then cruise around the scarezones

Yes No Maybe So??

See those three, then Zombiegeddon, then Orfanage, then Bill & Ted. It's all linear that way and you'll have plenty of time after that to do whatever you want.

Totally new to this! Still, it's not even for me. I don't plan on going. Our son is going for his 18th birthday with a couple of friends and his brother. We are wondering what hotel would work best for HHN on 10/24. Do you get express for HHN if you stay at one of their hotels? Thanks for the help!

No. HHN is a separately ticketed event, so no "normal" Express is honored.

HHN is open until 1am that night. Crowds will get heavy (60+ min waits) from 9-11. From 630-730 and 12-1 should be fairly light.

There is no S & S at IOA this year...this is different from years past. He won't be able to enter the Studios unless he's in the Studios prior to closing.

Hmm, so does this mean that if we have a day pass to IOA and S&S HHN tickets we can NOT get in "early", but must wait for the general admission opening time (6:30 pm)? I was under the impression, from reading this forum, that just being in Universal period, either park, let you get into the S&S queue for that early admission.

You can not be in IOA this year because there is no S & S holding area in Seuss Landing as in previous years. So...if you are at IOA and the Studios closes, you can not gain entry to HHN until the main gates open at 6:30pm. If IOA had a holding area this year then yes...you could be at either park. But that's not the case this year.

We are going this Thursday 10/7 and are using the Scream Early ticket. I was told that we wait at Finnegan's too but we won't be released til 6:30. We don't have express passes. Soooo, any ideas about which direction to go first or what houses to do first in this scenario or should we just follow the general admission plan too?

You'll be released around 5:50pm...not 6:30pm then you will head for The Legendary Truth first. You'll just follow the herd towards the house. The next house you should do is Hades which is open at 6pm.

There's two holding areas, Finnegans and Kidzone. You'll be let out around 5:45pm. I'll let someone else answer which direction to go.

In Kid Zone it's Hallow'd Past first, then Catacombs.

Does anyone know what I text to 64646 to get HHN wait times for a particular night? I want to check them out before I go on the 29th to see what tends to be the biggest waits. Thanks!

tonight is the code word.

the times received have no bearing on reality.
they are sent every half hour, but 15-20 minutes after the time stated
for example times as of 7pm were sent last night at 7:20pm

we checking the times versus what we saw, the posted times were 15 minutes higher than the text and the lines were longer than those posted. (for a thursday night, the park was very crowded)

psycho had a text time of 20, posted 30 at the entrance, and was twice as long as the one time we waited 30 (posted 10) as we sped by with our express passes.

Thanks.

It still helps to take a look at it to see how the crowds flow through the night, even if it isn't accurate to the minute.

For example, it looks like The Orphanage doesn't get nearly the wait that Reflections of Fear or Saw did. It looks like those got the long waits due to being "Icon" houses more than the location next to Bill and Ted. Everything appeared to have close to the same wait times all night. If anything was crowded -- it was the tent houses.

Ok, can someone help clear up my confusion regarding HHN tickets and entry times? This is my first year attending HHN, but I'm pretty savvy at Universal in general.

We have HHN tickets with Express Plus passes for Wednesday, 10-20-10. We're staying at Hard Rock and also have 4-day Universal/IOA tickets for the 5 day's we're there.

We get in on Wednesday afternoon, so our original plan was to not use a day of our regular passes on Wednesday, but just go to HHN that night. That means we can't enter until 6:30 pm, right?

But, if we blow a day of the passes on Wednesday, we could enter whenever, then stay inside after close and start HHN earlier? If we do that (it might be worth it since we may not be able to use all up 4 days anyway), then how does that work? Do we need to trade our ticket or something?

Does anyone think it would be worth it?

All you need are your regular admission tickets for the day, then head toward Finnegan's or Kidzone to wait. You will be asked to show your HHN ticket, which will be scanned. That's it. It's just that simple. :goodvibes
