AKA "How to get almost everything done by 10pm"

This guide comes from my years of experience going to/working the event. It is also based on the layout of the previous years and will be of Great Use to All. This is also based on all houses opening at 630-645. (S&S earlier, of course)

If you're Using the Stay & Scream Method

This is the preferred method. As long as you are in the park (USF) before 430, and you have your HHN ticket, you're golden. Your best bet is to head to Finnegan's and have a bite to eat, drink, or just hang out. They will most likely give you the "OK" between 545-6.

Touring Plan Begins:
1) Do the soundstage houses first. Yes, everyone else will be heading in this direction. But since it will just be Stay & Screamers, the lines won't be too long. Waiting for the houses to be ready takes longer. Get these three done (they all exit in the same area, by Twister) in any order you like, knowing that most of the crowd will be heading to these three first.

2) Go to the house in the Disaster queue, then Jaws queue. These will have short lines. YOU MUST DO THE HOUSE IN THE JAWS QUEUE BEFORE THE FIRST BILL & TED SHOW. If you don't, that house will be at a 90+ min wait for the rest of the night.

3) Go to the house near MIB. It exits in the same area. This one also gets his hard after a Bill & Ted show. You may have a wait for this.

4) Head to the houses in Kidzone. Enter the house on the right. It will exit near in the same area. Enter the house on the left. This one will exit by MIB. Both of these will probably have waits under 60 min each.

5)Go see Bill & Ted. Afterall, if you've followed this plan, you'll have seen all 8 houses, albeit none/almost none of the scare zones. You can wander around after the show to get scared silly.

6)A simpler explanation is to "Go Clockwise, starting with the soundstages"

Entering From the Front Gate

This is the Less Preferred Method. Unlike the above method, you want to go COUNTER-clockwise.

1)Once you get into the park/past security, head to the right. Most people will be entranced/head to the nearest houses, which are the soundstage ones. These will develop long lines early in the night. They are also straight ahead from the main entrance.

2)Head to the Kidzone area. Enter the house on the right. It exits in the same area. Enter the house on the left. It exits by MIB. Enter the house by MIB. It also exits by MIB (obviously)

3)Go to the house in the Jaws queue. DO THIS BEFORE THE FIRST BILL AND TED SHOW IS OVER. If you don't get there before then, skip it, unless you have Express.

4)Go to the house in the Disaster area. This will have a wait, especially if the Rocky Horror/Brian Brushwood show is ending.

5)Go to the soundstage houses. These will all have waits of 30-45+ min.

6)Go see Bill & Ted.

Using that method, you may have to make some skips/sacrifices, but you can still get a lot done! In either method, if you have Express, have fun in whichever order. Just know that the Express line for the Jaws Queue house always gets LONG after a Bill & Ted show.

One question sorry.

We are doing the Stay and Sceam but I thought we had to be in the park by 5. We will be there all day but we have a babysitter and I was going to take the kids back at about 4:15.

How flexible is the 4:30?

You should be OK getting there by 4:30pm but I wouldn't push it too much further than that. You never know what kind of line will be waiting for you to enter the park. It's better to get there earlier than to push it and get there late.

I have heard of people being in line at the turnstiles and being turned
away when it reached 5:00. Although this has never happened to me, I did get there late once and in that case just head over to IOA to that
waiting area(suess area) you can still get in a little earlier.

I have gone to HHN 6 times, and never gotten all the houses done. Last year was the closest I have ever come. I only missed the Frankenstein House. Last year I went to the back first and knocked out all of those before coming back up to the sound stages and waiting for hours for each of those. We went to the last Bill and Ted show, and after it we made it to the Chucky house before they closed the line. I will try your method this year.

This year we are going with a large group. My brother and his friends will be stay and scream at Islands and we will be stay and scream at Universal. How will we be able to meet up quickly to start this plan you have laid out? Will they allow him to enter Universal early with a stay and scream or will we have to wait on them to meet up with us after they open the gates?

There is no S & S at IOA this year...this is different from years past. He won't be able to enter the Studios unless he's in the Studios prior to closing.

Oh wow! Thanks for letting me know. He will be disappointed. He doesn't like Universal. He didn't want to pay for the park to park or the 2 day. I guess he will have to figure something out.

Oh goody!! Printing this out and then committing to memory! Thanks DM

One thing I love about going last (10/31) is these tried and true touring plans. Did this one work for anyone so far this year?

We usually enter from IOA so we'll have to change our plan this year and maybe do Uni S&S this year.

Did'nt know where to post this question,so I'll do it here.

Are the refillable cups honored during HHN or only reguler park hours?

I think you can use them during HHN. If they say no, then argh!

Also, it seems that Psychoscareapy and Zombiegeddon open at 630, instead of with S&S, but Havoc, Hallowed Past, and Orfanage open earlier.

I'd choose Hallowed Past, as Havoc, Catacombs, and Orfanage are not that great.

Let me see if I have this right...

SnS plan of attack...

First house we are taken to is Legendary Truth (What time is this?)

Then you say Psycho opens later... what about HADES? Would that be the logical second house, and then by then Psychoscarapy would be open?

I prefer not to zig zag, and we do have express passes...

After those houses we would head over to Zombiegeddon and perhaps see bill and ted...

Last house for us would be Hallowed Past...

Then cruise around the scarezones

Yes No Maybe So??

LT opens at 5:45pm, Hades 6pm and Psychoscareapy 6:30pm.
