HHN Ticket Question

We still have 2 days left on a 3 day pass from Costco, and we're looking to go to HHN in a couple of weeks. I see the option to add HHN to a ticket, so I'm assuming that if even if we only come for HHN, it will still use one of the days left on our ticket. Is this correct?

Also, do I need to enter the ticket numbers that we already have when purchasing the add-ons? The reason I ask is because I had accidentally washed my ticket (while DH was very responsible by putting his ticket in his wallet) and all I have are the scraps the people at Universal told me to bring to them on our next visit so they can issue me a new ticket.

Halloween Horror Nights is a separately ticketed event. You will not use a day out of your regular park ticket unless you enter the park during regular park hours. In the past you could not purchase the stay and scream add on for hhn unless you added a regular park ticket to the order. You can however purchase the stay and scream ticket at guest services. You just have to show that you have a park ticket.

If you are going to have to go to Guest Services for a new ticket anyway, go ahead and purchase the HHN event ticket at the Stay & Scream discount at the same time. You don't have to use it the same night...you just have to prove you've purchased a park ticket.
