I was on the phone trying to purchase tickets to hhn with the stay and scream option. I wanted to go to IOA during the day and hhn that night. I asked the operator about a "holding area" that the stay and scream guests go to and he said that you would just leave ioa and wait in the regular line out front. Is that right? I thought the stay and scream option got you into the park earlier than the other guests.

Thanks for your help!

You need to be in UNIVERSAL STUDIOS to do the stay and scream. I think I remember someone saying that they had a back route from IOA to get into Universal for HHN but I've never used it and dont know if it still exists. All I know is, now, for Stay and Scream you need to be in Universal to be able to get to the holding area.

Technically he's not wrong. S & S upgrades are simply HHN tickets at a discount. Since you mentioned you were going to IOA that day and not the Studios, he told mentioned you would have to wait outside until the main gates open. He's right. You have to be inside the Studios prior to closing to get into the holding area but you don't get in early. The park closes for day guests at 5pm and reopens for HHN at 7pm...sometimes earlier depending on the crowd outside. During the down time TMs are setting up lines and getting things ready for HHN.

There used to be a holding area in Suess Landing for HHN but I think they got rid of it a couple of years ago...not sure though. I think one of the problems were the amount of people waiting to get over to the Studios...it just got to be too much.

hhn has been opening at 6:30 for the general public.

i loved it when they did the 7:00 opening but that changed about 5 years back.

debbie, if you have a one day two park ticket, you are fine.
just leave ioa around 4 and walk over to the studios.
be inside the park by 4:45 and go to the S & S area.

but, if you only are buying a one day, one park ticket, you will have to wait outside the gate at the studios for hhn.
if you buy the one day ticket for ioa, you can not park hop that day.

you have to have a park ticket valid for the studios to enter before the park closes.

hello everyone

Since few years i'm a regular reader of this forum
By advance, sorry for my bad language:i'm french and i don't speak very well english
I have a question about stay and scream option:i understood how works this option but i hesitate before purchasing ticket:on HHN website for purchasing stay and scream option you have to purchase also a "base ticket park access"
Is it possible participating to HHN the same day than this 1- day base ticket?I plan visiting Universal orlando(IOA) one day only and participating to HHN during the same day,can i do that?
I ask this question because it specified on universal website:"Does not have to be used on the same day" and i'm not sure about the french traduction

Thank you so much and all my apologises for my bad english

13valencia, here's how it works.

HHN is a separately ticketed event. You must have your Date Specific tickets to attend the event. A HHN ticket only gets you in to HHN and that's it.

To get into IOA for the day, you need a 1-day park admission ticket. 1-day park tickets can be used whenever. You need a 1-day/2-park ticket to take advantage of Stay & Scream.

If you want to do just IOA & HHN the same day, you can do so. You'd just need your IOA ticket and your HHN ticket. Use your IOA ticket for the morning and then exit IOA around 530-6pm. Then go and wait outside USF for HHN to open. If there is a Stay & Scream area in IOA, then head over to that before 530pm.

glad you are joining us.

really, your english is better than mine ........

i think faster than i type and sometimes leave out words. it keeps everyone guessing here.......

you can buy a regular hhn ticket. the price for it is on the website. I listed it below.

these are those prices for the regular hhn ticket. florida residents, annual pass holders get discounts on the tickets.
the price for general admission to hhn when you don't have a discount is below:

General Admission Tickets 1 $81.99 +tax

the stay and scream ticket has a great discount.
if you are in the park during the day and hhn is going to be that night, you get a good discount for buying it for that night. you don't have to leave the park then.

it will be cheaper to buy a one day park ticket and the discounted hhn ticket, if you plan to be in the studios park most of the day.

this is the general admission price for stay and scream when you have a day ticket to the park. the prices are different depending on the day you want to go. you can use the HHN ticket any night:

Save up to $45 when you add Halloween Horror Nights to your regular daytime park ticket! (Does not have to be used on the same day)

Access to any one (1) Sun-Thurs Event Night -SAVE $451 $36.99 +tax
Access to any one (1) Fri Event Night -SAVE $301 $51.99 +tax
Access to any one (1) Sat Event Night -SAVE $151 $66.99 +tax

if i missed any of your questions, ask again.

i hope to see you there at HHN!!
