I read a rumor that the Stay and Scream hold area will be near the Castle Vampyr house. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Also, if that is indeed the holding area, will you be able to enter from the Studios side or only from IOA? Lastly, this area seems to be in the area that connects the 2 parks, will there be a nearby restaurant open for those waiting for the event to start?

Seems like a good place for the stay and scream area. It's close to Finnegan's bar, and across from the Mummy.
If it's true, that will be such an advantage to those in the park. I'll start at Castle Vampyr, then go counter clockwise around the sound stages, then to the remaining two houses on the USF side. After that I'll walk thru the corn field to the IOA side.

Ok, I called Universal directly and they said that there will be 2 hold areas for those waiting to enter HHN. Acording to the representative, you will be able to "Stay and Scream" while in either IOA or the Studios. The hold area for IOA will be somewhere near the Hulk. The hold area for the Studios will be somewhere near Jimmy Neutron. With 5 of the Houses and the parade route in close proximity to Jimmy Neutron and only 1 House and the Bill and Ted show over in IOA, I think the smarter spot to wait would be in the Studios.

Sounds logical. I have a feeling the holding area at USF will be next to Neutron where the stage is normally set up. That's a big open area where they can blast music. There are bathrooms on the Twister side, and the bar is around the corner at Finnegans.

It seems to me that the area by Jimmy Neutron that we are thinking will be used for Stay and Scream is the same area for the Midway of the Bizarre. Or will the hold area will be closer to the park entrance on the southeast side of Jimmy Neutron next to Shrek? Now I'm confusing myself.

Also for anyone interested, an updated map for HHN has been posted elsewhere on the net showing the exact locations of all of the houses and scarezones. You'll just need to do some searching. ;)

Lastly Marauder, I know the only entrance for non Stay and Scream tickets is through the Port of Evil, but can you confirm that the Stay and Scream guests will not be able to stay in the Studios without entering through IOA?

Yeah, the "stage" area, known as The Boneyard, is the Midway of the Bizarre. That won't be the holding area.

That I cannot confirm. If they have a Stay & Scream in USF, then when it's okay to venture out, you shouldn't have to go into IOA if you don't want to.

I think I remember from last year that one of the restaurants was open for Stay and Scream (Burger Digs maybey?) Does anyone know if any restaurants in USF/IOA will be open this year? Leaving in one week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joni

The entrance for those who don't Stay and Scream will be IOA now at 6:30. The logistics are tight in that USO closes at 6. But if Stay and Scream is like last year you should be able to get some sort of head start.

If you follow the blood flow shown on the Event Map you will see how a majority are going to tour the event. If you queue in the Boneyard area you will have quite a jump on the masses to the first house which would be Horror in Wax. One could probably do Horror in Wax and be in Ghost Town before anyone shows up. Another thought is the house's "popularity" which is yet to be determined but my guess is Nightmares is going to be very popular with all of the old icons in one house.
Yet another thought for your personal touring plan is predictability. You have just about enough time to do 2 maybe 3 houses before a queue devlopes. Those will be the houses that you are most likely to received the "scare". Once you are in a line you are able to either see or hear a few people ahead of you and know when someone/thing is about to jump out/up/down. Based on that you should go to the house that you think will provide the biggest "scare". Last year we did the Die-In first and I lost my party and no one was behind me and I was indeed frightened. :scared1:
I going on the RIP Tour so I have to go wherever she leads. Good luck!

I predict the soundstage houses will be the most popular, and where everyone will go first. So I'll knock them off, and stay one step ahead of the crowd.
Agree, walking thru the house when no one is there is fun, because you don't know what is going to happen. Last year, I did all the houses and made it to the one in Terrace Falls next to that big empty piece of land where they're going to build the flyer, wink wink. I got lost, walking to a dead end before the scareator showed me the way out. I was cracking up. When the place gets packed, it's just a line of people moving thru the house, and you see the scare before it happens.
For your tour, I'd ask the guide to let you wait a couple minutes, so there is empty space in front.

Any word yet on whether there will be a Stay and Scream area in USF? I'm going Saturday night!

Yeah, I'm wondering too. It seems to be the biggest kept secret of the event. I'll also be there Saturday night.

The Stay and Scream area for Universal Studios guests will be the entrance near the Fright Yard and for Islands of Adventure it will be near Circus McGurkis.
This is from Universal on-line guest services. This is the most up to date info I've seen. My guess is that Castle Vampyr and Hellgate Prison will open first with Ghost Town to follow shortly thereafter. Any others have any thoughts on this?

Both locations have their advantages.
If you start in IOA, you'll do the cornfield first and then all the soundstage houses.
If you start in USF, you can do the sound stage houses and the Mummy with a short wait.
It's really a toss up. Neither one is near a major restaurant or bar, which is weird. I'll probably be in the USF side. That way I can ride the Mummy a few times as the park is shutting down.

i'm planning to be on the USF side. I want to hit up the nightmares, vampyr, ghost town, and deadtropolis as fast as possible so they arent so built up inside.

According to the UO website, this Saturday night IOA closes at 5 and USF closes at 6. Could that be right? If so, wouldn’t it make sense to do the stay and scream at USF since we’d only be waiting a half hour after the park closes instead of an hour and a half?
