Hey all, were in Orlando right now and are wondering about bringing our 11 yr 10 month old son to HHN. How scary is it this year? He knows the premise behind Saw, never saw the movie of course but he knows who jigsaw and Chucky are. Is it too intense or what? We probably won't be back in October maybe never again. Honest opinons would you bring your mature nearly 12 year old?

It really depends on the kid. I could have handled it at age 12 but some teens who are older than that turn into quivering jelly. Would he like to see people wrapped in barbed wire or with a bear trap snapping on their heads right in front of him in the Saw house? Would he mind being attacked by chainsaw wielding maniacs? If so, he'll like it...if not, skip it!

If he is mature enough in your eyes,I would say go for it.But bieng honest, this is a adult oriented event. There will be scantly dressed women selling booze. There will be profanity around every corner from guest that had to much too drink. But security is high. They got security and OPD at every house to keep some of the fools in check. The houses are dark and they will try to scare anyone and I mean everyone young or old.
I first brought my DS at age 12 and now he is so hooked. But he is very mature for his age.He knew the 1'st year it was all fake and they cant touch you.But the Bill&Ted show is very risque, much less the RHPS-dont take him to that. That show traumitized me.:rotfl2:
All in all its up to you.Youre the only one that knows what youre child can handle!!

My kids both went at that age and loved it. the only thing I ever saw anywhere in Orlando that actually scared one of my kids was Alien Encounter in MK, my daughter was around 10 and wouldn't go back in a second time. The actual Alien part didn't scare her it was seeing that adorable little creature get all burned up in the preshow. They always had a lot of laughs at HHN but only you know what your child likes.

Took my 10 year old daughter last year and she was o.k.Once she knew they were not going to grab her she was o.k.We are going again this Thursday and Sunday night.

Interestingly, over here in England one of our theme parks does a 'Fright Night' at Halloween. Whilst nowhere as good as HHN (not even close) the scare actors are allowed and do grab you! :scared1:

It's not as easy to sue someone for distress in England as it is in America. Letting the Scareactors touch you would be like handing out free lottery tickets.

Winning lotto ticks at that!!Everyone is sue happy in the states..

It's a shame really, think how scary HHN would be if they could touch you or you could be randomly grabbed from the line eek!

Do what's best for your kid but PLEASE think it through well. I can't tell you how many hysterically scared kids I see each year and it's just heartbreaking to watch them suffering!

It truly is an adult event and many parts of it are intense, so be as sure as you can that he'll cope well before you even come through the gates. If in doubt, I'd recommend erring on the safe side & skipping it.
