Hi, I have never been to US or IOA, we are planning on going for the halloween party, but I have a couple questions.

What is FOTL? How much is it for HHN?
Which is better US HHN or Busch Gardens Halloween party?
THANKS

What is FOTL?
FOTL is Front Of The Line - Access for onsite guests to ride as often as they like.
How much is it for HHN?
The regular tix are $59.75 according to the website

I would have to vote for HHN since I've never been to BG during that time. Remember, Universal IS the movie monster king.

Thanks! I thought there was something you can purchase like FOTL for HHN is there something like that?
You can purchase the Express Pass Plus which is anywhere from $20-$40 per person in addition to the park ticket itself depending on the night you're going. Off peak (Sunday/Thursday) is less expensive than Friday/Saturday.

It puts you in the Express lines, like Disney's Fastpass. Whether or not it's worth it depends on what night you go. On busy peak nights, its very worth it. You can basically walk right into the houses. If you didn't have it, there's a very good chance you wouldn't even get to see them all. It can also be used for rides, but those lines will be short anyway since no one really goes to HHN for the rides. And HHN is a more professionally done event than BGT's Howl-O-Scream. If I could only go to one, it would be HHN every time.

One recommendation though. You should probably try going to the parks during the daytime at least once if you've never been, before going to HHN. It's better to see what the park is normally like first, and there's a much smaller chance of you getting lost during the event if you're already familiar with your surroundings.

Believe I've heard some people even mention $50 for express pass plus this year.

I purchased tickets on Universal's web-site for the HHN tickets, but didn't see anything about express passes.

How does one purchase them and how much do they cost? We will be going on October 14th which is a Friday so I know it will be busy. This will be our only chance to attend - we're leaving the following morning on a cruise.

Any advice / direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link phamton!

Just bought the express pass for that Friday night - woo hoo!!

FYI everybody: the express pass costs $37.28 per person on Friday and Saturday nights (includes tax) and $26.26 on "non-peak" nights.

i started to read this thread and had to run and get my notebook that has my 411 on hhn in it.

i bought the hhn tix and express passes over the phone. call the ticket line and buy straight from universal and get the discount. i couldn't figure out how to get the discount when i looked to buy them on line.

i am trying to figure this out with the figures people have listed here.

i spent $235.14, that includes tax, for oct 7-8-9 hhn and the express pass for each night.

i had already bought the multi day pass 2 park thing on line from the universal online store so i got the discount for the hhn tix. bought the add on ticket .......you know, stay and scream.
its cheaper that way i believe.

tickets have gone way up this year.
last year i paid $21 and 31 for non peak and peak nights.......did express for the first time, used it like it was an insurance plan.
if i hadn't done the stay and scream, i would have spent a long time in line even with the express. did two houses before the general public came in.

Looking forward to my 1st HHN, making the trek from Honolulu, Hawaii. Looking to go on the 27th (Thursday), 30th (Sunday), or the 31st (Monday). Any suggestions which date would be the best? Definetly do not want to go on the 28th or 29th, due to the crowds. The 27th would probably be the least crowded, but how's the crowd level compared to the 30th or the 31st? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just looking to see as much of the park as possible. I'll be there all day, so i'll be able to participate in the stay and scream and i'll splurge for the express passes. Thanx for your time!

i have only attended hhn the first 14 days of the event, never at the end as the crowd level is too great.

with that in mind, i can only say, if it was me, i would chose the thursday and definetely avoid the friday, saturday and monday the 31st.

if you buy a multi day ticket for the daytime, you can buy the ADD ON for the hhn ticket. it is cheaper. go in the daytime, stay in the park at the designated stay and scream area, and be able to start the hhn event at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours before the general public gets in at 7.

i suggest that once you know the date or dates you plan to go, buy the express pass then. they do sell out. do not wait to buy it at the gate since you are going at the end of the month. buy it in advance thru the toll free number. only a limited number are sold per day over the phone. if you call and are told they are out of them that day, call back the next day.

OT: honolulu eh........my brother lives there since 1988. it's a great place to go visit family. beautiful place.

Actually, the express pass for Saturdays is $47.93.

OUCH!

Sorry about the mis-information, there. When I called yesterday the person I spoke with just told me the express pass cost was higher on Friday and Saturday nights - we paid $37.28 per person for Friday night and I just assumed it was the same for Saturday.

My bad. And I thought Disney was the only place in Orlando that liked to over-charge its customers!! :teeth:

don't worry about it.
lots of postings have boo boos at times.

if i don't look at what i wrote, some of my posts would be jibberish........
especially if my fingers are not placed on the keyboard the way i learned in school.

the prices are high this year which leads me to believe, universal can pack them in as hhn has gotten big!!

i may gripe and complain about the costs, but whatever it is, i will buy it.

i start planning the next years trip to universal and hhn before i leave on the present trip.
the one zinger that through me this year was hrh and the other two on site hotels no longer accept the entertainment coupon. many times booked at the ent rate and got a pool view for $125 + tax per night.

using AAA this year and its $224 + tax night +$249.xx ONE NIGHT
but, i still book it and pay it.

oybolshi, how far are you away from st. Louis?

OFallon is in St. Charles County - we're really a far west suburb of St. Louis. Our house is about 45 miles west of downtown St. Louis.

My turn...how far are you from Milwaukee? My brother-in-law and his family live in Hartland and we usually trek up there once a year (usually when the weather is warm...so I guess that's August?? :teeth: ).

I know what you mean about the planning in advance thing. I'm already working on the family trip to WDW for next October!
