Looks like my DH and I might be able to sneak down to Orlando for a few days without the kids in late Sept/early Oct. I'm thinking about going to HHN, but have never been before and have some questions.

I've read that both parks will have it this year. How will that work? Will it be one cost for both parks or does a person have to choose one park for the night?

I read on the Universal site about express passes for the night, but there wasn't a price for it yet. How much does that usually run? How long are the ride lines without it?

I think that I've heard that FOTL can't be used on HHN nights--is that correct?

Is this a hard ticket event or do we also need the regular park admission for the day? Are all the rides open? What are the usual hours?

Thanks! I think that I'd really like this event and my DH would like to have this more grown-up evening. Most of our time will be spent at WDW since I currently have an AP for there (Universal AP expired), but it's hard to stay away from Universal all together!

Your ticket price will include for both parks.

They don't list the price until they know how busy that night might be. Last year, they ranged in price between $15-25. Lines can be very long. Some last year were an hour or longer.

You are correct. There is no FOTL for onsite hotel guests. You can buy express pass booklets or pay for a VIP tour.

It is a separate ticket event. You don't need to pay for a ticket during the day unless you want to do the "Stay and Scream."

No. Most major rides are open but we don't have an exact list right now. I would suspect Mummy, Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, Hulk, Spiderman, Dueling Dragons will be open for sure.

7 until midnight and some nights until 2 AM.

Thanks, Phamton!

Do you think that the rides won't be quite as packed this year since they are having the event in 2 parks? How are those parks during the day before the HHN begins? Looks like Friday, Oct 1 or Sat, Oct 2 are our choices for nights--know if Friday or Saturday is less busy?

We're just in early planning stages at this point, but I need to figure out what I want to do so that I can plant the seed in my DH's brain so he can think it's his idea. ;) We probably would not stay onsite--I'm having a hard time justifying that since the FOTL doesn't apply to the HHN. But then again, 1 night at Portifino Bay when we are 22 years overdue for a honeymoon doesn't seem too outrageous, don't you think? :teeth:

I've only been one year, last year so I am not an expert but I would guess that Friday would be less busy than Saturday. The ride lines weren't too bad but the lines for the houses were very long.

We went twice last year. The first time without the express and the second with the express passes. Without the express, it took us all night just to see the houses and we didn't have time to ride any rides. The second time, we bought the passes and went to all the houses and rode all the rides that we wanted.

We went on the very first night last year and didnt need the express books. There were no lines at all and we stayed almost til closing.
That said if we go this year we will get the express booklets since you just cannot tell how crowded it might end up being. I see them as money well spent.

Are the express passes just for the rides or also for the houses?

That's good to know--seems like it would be worth it, especially since we would probably only be at Universal for the HHN and not for the day.
