Hi all, its been a while since I have been on. I'm planning my first ever trip to US for HHN :yay: and am in need of some advice, so I am turning to the experts here. :thumbsup2

First, here are the rates I was quoted:

Standard Garden Room (Upgraded to Deluxe Queen for Platinum)
September 27th - October 1st $156.00 per night
October 2nd - October 4th $173.00 per night
Total with taxes $1280.17 :woohoo:

Portofino Suite upgrade:
September 27th - October 1st $274.00 per night
October 2nd - October 4th rate changes to $304.00 per night
Total with Taxes $2259.00

Great rates, but I am confused. When I called to find out about rates I was told that if I paid for a standard garden view room I was not eligible for the Portofino Suite upgrade, that I would have to pay extra for that, which is why I have the second quote. I have never heard of that before. Any other time I have booked a Garden View Room I have been given the Portofino Suite upgrade for the price of a Garden Room. Is this because of HHN? I'm not complaining about either rate, I just am wondering why I have to pay a higher rate for the suite upgrade, when I've never been told that before. :rolleyes1

Thought I'd come back with an update in case someone else here ever has the same problem. The rep was wrong on the phone, you shouldn't be charged more for a platinum upgrade. I called back to change my dates and was told I was misinformed and was given the upgrade to the Portofino Suite for the price of the Garden View. May as well enjoy my most likely last platinum perk! :woohoo:

is it rack rate (might be supersaver?) or did u check out AAA rates jik they may be lower (they r qualifying)

enjoy HHN, wish i were going back this year!

No actually, I had to change it to us coming in on a Tuesday, our kids are only allowed 5 non sick days, so they will go to school the Monday before the trip and miss the following Monday. Here is the new rate:

September 29th - October 4th
PBH
Garden View room upgraded to Portofino Suite
$163 changing to $181 per night
Super Savings
LF Platinum

I know we got an excellent rate. It was a supersaver that was 40% off the rack rate. :thumbsup2

We usually go in November for Thanksgiving, but I have been dying to do HHN so I checked it out and we will be paying less than half of what we usually pay!!! :woohoo:

I am a huge Halloween/horror fan, I know we will enjoy HHN. I will most likely be starting a new tradition. :rolleyes1

HHN is so much fun, way better than i had hoped for (and i had high hopes;) ), enjoy!

Thanks Keisha, I can't wait for HHN, for now I guess I will just have to immerse myself in posts about HHN past and get all excited!! :)

Can't wait until they start to release details about this year. :yay:
