I see quite a few are going Saturday the 2nd. Does anyone have an opinion about Friday Oct. 1st? Do you think it will be crowded?Think there will be opening night problems? They do at least one rehearsal for employees, don't they?

Crowded? Probably. It is a Friday afterall. And some people go to watch the opening scaremonies.

Opening night problems? Possibly. People act different for HHN. Plus rides can become cursed. :scared1: :jester:

And there is an employee preview night. And no, I won't be able to go...

Dang! I was hoping to see you there. Are you working that night?

I'm going on the 2nd because Friday is usually date night.
Try it, go to a restaurant in your local area on a Friday night and they're usually packed. People get off work, go to happy hour, then bar hopping to the clubs. In this case, HHN is big event they'll be going to straight from work. And I'm sure the locals will know about it with all the radio ads running.
While Saturday will be packed, I'm sure it will be less crowded, and they will have worked out the bugs from the first evening.

Since they are using both parks they will won't sell out. It could be very crowded though.:crowded: :crowded: :crowded:

We got the (R)VIP Tour for the night. No lines!

last year was my first for hhn.
i went on the opening night friday , skipped saturday , and went again on sunday that first weekend.

opening night friday was not crowded at all. saw all houses , some twice. around 11:00 the crowd increased but not so bad where lines were over 20 minutes.
bill and teds show was crowded for the last show of the night. i was impressed on how light the crowds were. there was a special at one of the restuarants one price all you can eat from midnight to 2:00am. food was great.....

then comes sunday a non peak night..............readers digest version, should have bought an express pass......long lines for rides and houses. with the hulk closing early, it stressed out the house lines. we were only able to do three houses and few rides. we were held up on dueling dragons as it shut down around 10 and didn't open for 25 minutes..someone had a nose bleed and bleed on us, ride had to be cleaned up before using it again....when i complained at gs, we were issued a partial refund. not that this is unusual, but cut into the time for us at the park.

i think a lot of people stayed away opeoning night thinking they would wait to get the kinks out as you called it.
i was at hrh that weekend and the hotel was sold out on the saturday. was told the park was too crowded by other guests that returned that night. i have no idea how it really was, i was at city walk that evening. my info was second hand from guests at the hotel.

this year i am going the second weekend and bought express pass just for the insurance of it.

forgot to add.........i called wednesday and ordered the express passes and the employee told me they only sell a limited number of them. i told her i have two friends that might go with me at the last minute and asked could they get the express pass the day of the event.
she told me they will stop selling express pass over the phone on sept 30. if any are left available they will be sold at the park.

she added that some of the nights the tickets are going fast and she could not predict when they would sell out.

They canceled the employee preview night. Will they be shootin' from the hip on opening night?

They should be ok on opening night. They are having plenty of rehearsals just not employee preview. They had to cancel because they have some work to do on the field of screams and some of the houses. There was some damage from Hurricane Jeanne and they also lost 2 days of being able to work on the sets also because of Jeanne.

That's why I'm going on the 2nd. Figured they'd get all the bugs worked out. Wow, it's almost here.

If you want to wait for all the bugs to be worked out, it's safer to go the second week.

I suspect the employees that didn't get to go to the cancelled preview will show up opening weekend, making for hellacious crowds. :o

If the crowd approachs 30k and the houses have a 3k/hr throughput it will be near impossible to see all the houses, parade, Bill and Ted let alone any rides. Glad I RIPed.
