I have been to HHN on both Peak and Non Peak nights in the past and have always been able to do more on the Non Peak nights. I am going this year on Thursday October 17th. I was wondering if I should bother with buying the express book for the event or not. Every other year when I went around this time I could easily do all the houses a few times, and be able to catch Bill and Ted at least once. Now since HHN is in IOA this year, should I expect Peak level crowds even on Non Peak nights?

Tuff call.
I'm going the 10th so I'll let everyone know when I get back.
However, Orlando doesn't have school the 17th and 18th. With the kids not having school that Friday, I'd expect Thursday to be crowded. I moved my visit back a week to avoid this.
Tampa schools are out the 18th, so I'd expect HoS to be packed that Friday night.

I agree Mike, but if most of the Orlando area schools are off on Friday, I could see Thursday night being a little crowded.

I wouldn't think Thursday would be crowded, I'll be there on the 17th. People work on Friday, School of Friday, People get paid on Friday. I don't think it's going to be packed. I wouldn't suggest wasting $35 for that book that's more then the tickets cost to get in.

tickets cost $49.95+ tax if you dont have some way of getting them discounted...

Our tickets were cheaper than that (we are at the parks for three days, so we got the Stay and Scream deal). I called Universal tonight and they said they discount the Express Book depending on how crowded they expect the park to be. The night in question was marked down to $25 total including tax. The rep on the phone said they expected the houses to have 20 minute waits on those nights, and the express guarantees only 15 minutes or less. If this is true, I think buying the book isn't worth it, but somehow I doubt the park will be that empty. I mean 20 minute waits are nothing when it comes to HHN.

Caretaker's Express Booklets are $29 for non peak nights, $26 with the fanclub discount. The number to call is 1-800-711-0080.

We did HHN on Friday 10/04/02 and they were still selling the Caretaker's Express books (and appeared to have plenty of them) at the lagoon end of Port of Entry for $25.00 at around 8:00 pm- even with 30,000 event tickets having been sold by 6:30 that night. The crowds were large in the streets but we never waited more than 20 min. for any of our fave rides- including front row on Hulk and both Dragons! Sorry, but we're weanies, so we didn't do any of the houses, and consequently have no idea about the lines at those! We did upgrade to a Maximum Fear Pass which I highly recommend if you are planning on going back and you are local. Halloween Night is even included- and we'll be there!

oh, and BOOO!!!!!
