I need some planning help for HHN. We are going on Oct 4th. Our tickets are bought, and we purchased Express Passes. We will not be there for stay and scream. I know the gates open at 6:30, so how much earlier than 6:30 do we need to be at the gates? Any touring suggestions? Which part of the park should we go to first? I appreciate any tips you can give. I've been to Universal several times, this is my first for HHN. Thank you!

Probably at least an hour...the lines fill up fast. I would do Stay and Scream if you could.

I went last year on a Thursday without stay and scream but with the express pass. I got there about an hour early and there was already a fairly significant line. I was the first one into the Psychoscareapy house but after that the wait times significantly increased. I think the next house we did had about a 15 minute wait and from there it went up to 45 minutes. As soon as you get in you should walk very fast to the houses and work your way around the park to all of them. Expect significant waits after the first two houses. Do the shows and stuff after that. I'm doing Stay and Scream this year in hopes of knocking out the houses quicker.

If you can't do stay and scream, I'd advise getting there about an hour early. Then, head for the back of the park. Go in the opposite direction of where the employees are trying to direct you. Make going in the houses your priority, do not stop for shows, etc. until the lines start getting long at the houses.

Sometimes they open the gates 15 to 20 minutes early so definitly get there as soon as you can. You definitly don't want to miss this :)

Thank you everybody for the great tips! One clarifying question...even with an express pass we will have a 45 minute wait for the houses?

I doubt it but depending on when you're going, you could have a longer wait but nothing like the regular lines.
