As someone who has yet to attend HHN (or even visit Universal), I have been trying to research what it's like but am a little confused about the overall setup. Can anyone please answer the following?

1. Do you enter the houses in big groups, small groups, singles, or a continuous stream of people? (Trying to figure out if there is a way to ensure other people are around you if you are scared, etc.)

2. Are all the houses actually mazes?

3. What happens if you needed medical or other assistance? Are you trapped in the house or are there people on standby to help you get out, etc.? (not sure how scary it is but if you had a panic attack, heart attack, etc.)

4. I've heard the scareactors can't actually touch you - what happens if they chase you and you don't or can't run? Will they just get menacingly in your face then move on?

5. Does anything else touch you? (Blood, slime, water, dirt, etc.) Should you be wearing "old" clothes in case? And I heard somewhere about a former HHN house that used cockroaches - would these have been behind glass or something or just running around and possibly touching the guests? (I have a bigtime bug phobia so something like that would not just scare me but probably make me actually faint.)

6. Is it totally safe when there are parts of houses in pitch black, etc.? I would imagine Universal has a way of dealing with this ...?

7. Are the houses completely interactive or more walk-through with some scareactors talking/yelling?

8. How long does it take to walk through a house on average?

9. I've heard about some Burger King discount coupon used in the past for HHN admission - was this regional FL only or national? (I know it's not confirmed for this year but sounds like there will be something similar if it's not BK.)

Sorry for so many questions - I am having trouble figuring out what it's actually like since most of the reviews I've seen are from people who go year after year. Thanks in advance!!!

1. Do you enter the houses in big groups, small groups, singles, or a continuous stream of people? (Trying to figure out if there is a way to ensure other people are around you if you are scared, etc.)

It's a continuous stream of people. Basically, you wait in line to get in, and then you're waiting in a quicker moving line to get out.

2. Are all the houses actually mazes?

No. Some houses have forks, and it's sometimes so dark that you might have trouble seeing where you're going, but most houses have a single path. The only actual maze I can remember was RUN.

3. What happens if you needed medical or other assistance? Are you trapped in the house or are there people on standby to help you get out, etc.? (not sure how scary it is but if you had a panic attack, heart attack, etc.)

There are emergency exits and employees at certain points of the house to help you.

4. I've heard the scareactors can't actually touch you - what happens if they chase you and you don't or can't run? Will they just get menacingly in your face then move on?

They'll lose interest and move on. Most scareactors won't actually chase you. But if it's a chainsaw scareactor, for example, they'll try to get the chainsaw as close as possible to you without touching you, but if you still don't react, they'll just find someone else to get a reaction out of.

Most likely, the only substances you'll encounter are water and foam. Nothing that would ruin clothing, although the foam is sometimes annoying to get through.

6. Is it totally safe when there are parts of houses in pitch black, etc.? I would imagine Universal has a way of dealing with this ...?

I'm not sure what you mean. Anyone could trip and fall at any point in a house, doesn't have to be pitch black. But there is usually at least one employee that can see you if you're about to hurt yourself.

7. Are the houses completely interactive or more walk-through with some scareactors talking/yelling?

You walk through it (no stopping), with the scareactors jumping out and saying something as you pass by. Sometimes they'll trigger a special effect as you pass for a bigger scare.

8. How long does it take to walk through a house on average?

About 10 minutes. House length varies.

9. I've heard about some Burger King discount coupon used in the past for HHN admission - was this regional FL only or national? (I know it's not confirmed for this year but sounds like there will be something similar if it's not BK.)

They're only given out in FL and maybe the surrounding states. You probably won't find it anywhere else.

if you are going to hhn for the first time, you should go in the daytime so you know your way around. if you look around, you wil be able to detect where many of the hhn items wil be. hint: they are covered up......
at POE the stands will be covered up and draped so the effects will be awesome when you see them in the evening.

depending on the date you go, could determine the crowd level.
if it is packed, it will be a conga line type going thru the houses.
difficult to scare many when it is like that.

go and enjoy......you wil have fun.
