HHN FL vs CA

Hi,
We’ve done a couple years of HHN in Florida, and it’s been a great time (quality of houses and scare zones are key for us). Question is, anyone know what it’s like in California? Better, worse? Just trying to plan for next year… we have friends in S. CA, but don’t want to suggest we go there if it’s a let-down (We’d just plan a non Universal trip to visit them).
