HHN Express Pass Question

I am thinking of waiting to get our express passes for HHN opening night until we are in the holding area to see if they are offering discounted ones like last year. It would really bother me to pay $60 if they sell them later for $15 or even $30 in the holding area. My question is, if they are not selling discounted express passes in the holding area, can I still purchase them at the regular price that night and if so, where do I go to purchase the express passes? So far their are still plenty of express passes available for opening night so I am not worried about them selling out. What to do! What to do!:goodvibes

You could still buy the regular priced EP's at Guest Services.

if they don't sell the EPP's in the holding area, see if you can leave that section to buy them at GS on that date.

The only risk to not buying them early is that they may sell out. But the one time we went and there was a sell-out, we were able to buy individual EPs for a comparable price (and we could choose the houses to use them on vs. just one for each house).

What is the holding area? We have the stay and scream passes. Is this where they put you when the parks close and you wait to go back in?

it's another term used.

holding area is the stay and scream ticket holders wait until the park is cleared out.

the section by finnegans/blues brothers act has been the section where those that have the hhn ticket can stay until the park is cleared.

anyone that is in the park in the daytime and also have the hhn ticket for that night, do not have to leave the park.

when the all clear signal is given by security, those in the Stay and Scream Holding area, are released to start going to the houses.
the time varies based on how long it takes to clear the park when it closes at 5.

anytime between 5:40-6:00, you can be released.

if you left the park, you would not be allowed in until 6:30.
that is is you are lucky.
the line to enter for hhn by the outside gate usually starts forming around 5ish.

So far they are no close to selling out the EPs for opening weekend. If they are close to selling out, the system would prompt the TMs to tell me on the phone that the availabilty is limted. I've been calling every other day to check and there is no prompt yet so I am not concerned about them selling out at this juncture. I'm just not sure I want to leave the park to go stand in GS line to purchase the tickets. Is there GS inside the park where I can purchase them? I may just bite the bullet and purchase them ahead of time and where earplugs and blinders when they come selling them cheaper in the holding area!

I'm new to this so please help me out. In the holding area do they have a place/cashier area that they sell them? Also, do you have to standing in the holding area or are there place to eat and refreshments being sold? How many people are usually in the holding area and area you crammed in like cattle or is there room to move around. Someone please tell me about the hoding area.

Once inside the gate, make a right and GS is over in the corner.

They usually have TM's walking around selling them. The main area outside Finnegan's holds a lot of people and you can go into Finnegan's for a bite or a drink. The other holding area last year was over in the Fractured Tales scarezone. I don't know what they offered there.

there is another GS located inside the park.
I have rarely used the GS that is outside the park.

there have been past years where TM's sell the epp at the S $ S holding area.
and they were cheaper than what i paid for mine in advance.
ask metro how i went nuts over that one.......

i bit the bullet and bought my epp's for the nights i will be there.
i go solo so the cost for me would be less than yours.
but on the other hand i go for more than one night of hhn.

i could see the ep's selling out more towards the end of the month than the beginning or second week.

and like you said, you would be informed when you called if the epp's were close to selling out.

i think one reason the price was jacked up this year on the epp's was due to so many peeps complaining of the extreme long waits on some dates for the houses in the express line.

when the epp is cheaper, many buy them.
with the price higher, we may see the express line for the houses really become an express line again.

here comes that finally but.........
maybe epp will be sold again at s & s if not many have been purchased on that date.....

:scared1::scared1::scared1: what to do!!!!!!!.Ok now my head Is just aching:guilty: to buy early or not to:confused3 wait and run the risk of missing out or buy early and see them up to half off yikes while in the S&S area.Maybe I will blind fold my self and plug my ears and just buy them early:rotfl2:

Just throwing this out there.

Last year for opening weekend I really don't think a line got over 20 min. the entire evening. I just remember thinking how great opening weekend was because it seems that most wait until October to go because Fri. and Sat. nights are open two hours longer after opening weekend.

We had absolutely NO problem getting through all the houses both Fri. and Sat. Night. It was not busy at all and I think the year before was just about the same.

Just giving you something to consider before you shell out the money. They were not needed opening weekend at all last year. I had more money to drink with.:woohoo:

You aren't going to "miss out" on anything, the absolute worst thing that will happen to you is that you will have to wait in line. Because of the advantage timewise you get by doing the S&S you can be through 2 or 3 houses before many of the regular patrons are even in the park and you can be through 4 or 5 before the waits start getting bad. While other people are jamming the houses you can see the shows and scare zones then hit the houses you missed later in the evening.

If they have EPs left they will be selling them in the holding area while you are waiting. If they aren't selling them and they still are available a TM will either take you to get them or have them brought to you.

Finally, unless you are going on opening night, you will have the benefit of everyone else's experience to guide you. That means you will know which houses open first, which houses exit right next to the entrance of another house, which ones are the ones not to miss so you hit them early, etc. That will give you advantages 90% of the other patrons won't have. Keep watching this forum, it's like a free express pass :-)

Ya thats my delimia,I do not want to get down there and not need the fast passes and we are getting the S&S tickets so I guess If there still avalable we can get them then?. Do you think the gate price will scare alot off?

You can purchase the EP's that night if you wanted...as long as they aren't sold out...which is rare. The price isn't going to scare off a lot of people.

Another thing you can do, which was suggested by Inkognito, is buy individuall passes. Since you aren't going on opening day you can wait and find out which houses are the must-sees and which are take it or leave it. Buy individual passes for the good ones and it will be less money than buying a full EP. If individual passes are sold out you can always buy the full EP. Just keep watching the HHN forum you will have a good strategy before you hit the park.

So you can buy Indevuale passes to the houses?,how much do they run?

The individual pass thing is tricky. Guest Services didn't even know about them. They were being sold in the building that would be on your left as you face the GS location inside the studio. Not sure if they'll sell 'em again this year and if it's only done when the regular EPs are sold out (which was what happened when I bought 'em), but I really liked them. The price was actually comparable to EP and you could use them on any house.

In 9 days there will be a flood of new information, pictures, etc. We will be there on opening night and will have pictures posted within hours after we leave because we have to drive back to Ocala first. Others will have them up before us so you will have plenty to see on 9/26 when you wake up and come online.
