HHN date question

I should probably know this, but next year will be my first time going the week of Columbus Day. Isn't that typically the week they start having it Wed-Sun?

the past few years hell week started wed oct 16.
wednesdays are opened for hhn then.
not that many schools are closed on that day though.
the next week is when the crowds really arrive in the parks.

i left that night.


this year i am guessing it will be on the 15th for a portion of hell week.
the week after that is when it gets really crowded with the school days off.

i have been there during the columbus day weekend for the past 7 years.
it really isn't that bad if you are staying on site.

back in the fall, i booked my stay for october '14.
yea, my stay has the columbus day weekend in it.
