I know it is a bit early for Halloween talk but I read a few rumors on another board ...... maybe I am slow or something but does anyone know if HHN is going to be at IOA again this year?

I enjoyed 2002 at IOA but prefer the event to be held at the studios. I could be alone on this. I'm sure Universal will do a great job no matter where HHN is located but I can't help my disappointment.

Any insights????

Thanks in advance

From what has been said............and at this point in time nothing is set in stone...........but it looks as though IOA will host HHN again this year.

IOA will most likely hold HHN again. It may come back to USF for 2004, but that may change. Maybe they'll go to alternating which park it's in. But for right now, IOA seems to be the current host.

Thank you Sea Hag and Dark Marauder for the swift reply. I suppose there is hope for '04.

On the bright side I have heard there will be 6 houses this year. That is completely unsubstantiated rumor picked off another website so take it for what it's worth.

I have done HHN at the studio's and understand how that all fit in and the lay out worked well. How do they lay it out at IOA?

I don't remember the layout exactly but I do remember the things I liked least and most:

Least:

- No Parade. I missed the parade more than I thought I would.

- No scare zones. I think they advertised it as the whole park being a scare zone but that didn't really work for me.

- Ambiance. There is, imo, a special feel to the studios during HHN that doesn't translate as well with IOA.

- Crowds. Maybe there were many more people in 2002 than 2001 but the narrow passageways between islands at IOA created mobs of people at those locations.

And most:

- I believe most of the rides were open, which was a huge plus.

- I also think that Suess Island was not decorated and absent any scareactors, maybe as a safe haven for younger children.

- There was an express book you could buy to give you express acccess to all haunted houses and most of the rides.

Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed myself last year I just prefer the studios for the reasons stated above. It would be nice if they could somehow combine the parks for HHN but that is an unlikely dream.

I hope this helps.
