I received an AP flyer in the mail today outlining the discounts for HHN to AP holders (premier and preferred). Not sure if this was posted already but they are having passholder nights 9/25 & 26 and 10/2 & 3. No apprent cost and AP holders get access to Chucky's house from 5PM to 6:30 PM. The meet area is the Cirque du Freak Scare Zone. Although an AP holder, I never participated in the AP events at HHN. Strategywise, is attending this a good idea. Aren't there usually other houses that also open early?
Heading out tomorrow morning - so excited!

The early entrance is basically Stay & Scream but in a different area. The main S & S area is over near Finnegan's but the AP party is over by E.T. Both areas will have early access to different houses. It's always a good idea to at least do S & S if you can but the AP party can be fun too.

Cool, I already asked a question about this in another thread but I guess I'll just keep the convo going here since this one is more detailed. Anyway, I thought they Stay and scream area was just so that you didn't have to leave the park and stand in line outside. I didn't know you got early access to some houses. So how exactly does the stay and scream work? I have an annual pass and I bought tickets to HHN so can I go inside the park with my annual pass and then stay inside and show them my hhn ticket? Or is it only with some special stay and scream ticket? I'm thinking since I'm going on two nights that maybe I can get into the stay and scream zone one time and the Annual Pass zone the next.

They're advertising Chucky as opening at 5pm, which is generally 45-60 min. earlier than the first S&S house seems to open.

If you had the choice between the two, I would choose the AP party. I did it last year, and got the two houses in that area done quite quickly (only downside? it's so bright outside, the mazes are rather dark and hard to see at times since your eyes have not gotten accustomed to the dark yet).

The stay and scream area is for those who have been in the parks during the day and are staying for the HHN event that night. If you have a HHN for that night (either the full price ticket for that night, the Frequent Fear Pass or a special "Stay and Scream" ticket) you can utilize the stay and scream areas - TM's will come around and scan your HHN ticket.

:confused3 ... not sure how that will work with the park being open until 5:00 pm and the TMs having to clear out the parks before allowing the S&S guests access ...

The Chucky house is on the other side of the park from the S & S area and TM's are monitoring who's coming into the AP party. They basically guide you from the gate to the party area.

Ah, for the AP party - that makes more sense - during regular HHN nights I couldn't see it happening ...

So you are saying that you would rather do S&S than the AP event? What's the reasoning behind that, just the social aspect of meeting other DISers? It sounds like the AP folks get Chucky then the S&S early openings also or am I misinterpreting that?

Has anyone heard if RSVPing is an absolute necessity in order to enter the passholders area? Reason being that I purchased my annual pass online and still don't have my pass ID or pin #. I won't be getting it until Friday morning when I go to the park. Or can I RSVP at Guest Services once I get my pass. :thanks:

AP gets Chucky at 5:00 and Silver Screams around 5:45. I'm trying to remember when we were let out and allowed to go towards the S&S houses, but I don't exactly remember.

Also, not sure if they allowed non-RSVP'ers, they actually had a print out with all RSVP names on it. It doesn't hurt to go there anyway and ask, plus someone here will probably have a more definitive answer.

This is nothing they haven't done before. I went to the AP party in 2007 and it was a complete disaster. No one knew where the location was, the drinks are not on special, one scareactor was wandering around, etc. I know a lot of people were really upset since there was no "party" as advertised and I haven't been back since. I'm doing S & S Friday night and the AP party on Saturday...I'll give it another try this year. The APer's will have two houses to view early...Chucky and Silver Screams. The S & S people will have two houses to view too but I haven't heard which ones. I'm guessing Dracula and maybe Frankenstein...because of the proximity of the holding area to those houses.

Well I'll be doing the AP party. I don't care about drinks or scareactors, they will be around all night. If I can get Chucky plus the S&S houses we could be through 4-5 houses before they even get the regular guests in. If it doesn't work out we can always do the S&S on saturday night.
