Hi
How crowded are the parks in October when HHN is going on?
We are working on a short stay in October and are trying to see where we can get the most bang for our buck.

Thank you!

Usually not as busy during the day. But who knows this year with Stranger Things coming. It’s probab one of the biggest properties they’ve brought to the event.

Remember all the folks that are coming in for HHN like myself and others here will be in the parks some during the day also.

If you are not doing HHN do early entry or rope drop at Universal Studios to get the most out of that park as it closes early on days that HHN is held. On days HHN held Islands of Adventure open later.

You can go to HHN event calendar on Universal Orlando website and see nights HHN held at studios. This will help.

If we go we will be doing HHN as well. It might end badly for me as I am a huge chicken!:scared:

If you avoid weekends, you will be fine
When people are off work sat/sun, more will do the parks
Add hhn into the mix and weekends can be crowded

I am the ultimate horror chicken- I don't watch horror tv shows or movies at all! I went two years ago because my family wanted to go and I didn't want to be a coward! So I went! I actually liked it- this will be my third year attending HHN!! I think it's the fun atmosphere with a group that makes it so exciting and enjoyable! So, I am proof that you don't need to know the backstory to the houses to enjoy them and have fun!

I know all the horror movies and I actually loved Stranger Things. I am a Walking Dead fan and when I was younger I loved horror! I am such a scaredy cat though when it comes to people scaring me. I usually end up buried in the back of my husband if we do haunted houses. That said - I do want to try it out because I know my hubby would love it!

Also, don't forget that Columbus Day falls in October, specifically Monday, October 8, 2018. I hear the preceding Saturday and Sunday will be a madhouse. That's when we are goingo_O

So true!

I have been going to UO and my dates include Columbus Day weekend since 2009.
Each year more crowds attend.

Saturday and Sunday will have packed crowds unless it pours rain those days.

You can check out the UO booking site and put in dates for that weekend.
Later this year, you will not find a lot of availability for that weekend for some of the onsite hotels.

When the hotels fill up, you see more crowds in the parks.

Columbus Day weekend is busy at Walt Disney World too. Everyone's looking for a long weekend or at least a school holiday to do a vacation. It's really the only time that we could do HHN with my son in school. I really don't like to take him out for vacation.

If you go on a HHN day and plan to go over to IOA for the evening, either do it early or don't plan to use HE unless you have EP. The line gets really long from about mid-afternoon on.
