My husband keeps going back and forth in doing this during our October trip. (We have a 2 and 5 year old, so I'd stay back and have a movie night with them). Any thoughts on doing it alone?

He loves horror movies/shows/etc and a lot of the houses are interesting to him.

Thanks, best board ever!

for the nights i don't hook up with other homies from the boards, i do the parks and hhn solo.
hhn is fantastic with friends or by myself.

i travel solo for my long fall vacations.
never an issue but i can feel comfortable with friends, family members or by myself.

while waiting in lines for a house, show, ride, i just look around and let my mind wander. sometimes i plan where i will go next.
some people talk to me, some don't while waiting.
lines waits can get loud at times and you can't help but hear other's conversations.

once in the houses, there are no conversations with anyone except for hearing the occasional screams.

have your Mr take a camera and wander thru the scare zones so he can share it with you later when he returns back to the room.

tell him to take in bill and ted's show.

no matter if you are in a house or at one of the shows, you will not have much private space.
peeps are squished together in congo lines thru the houses and at the seating for the shows.
no one really pays any attention to others, or notices if they are solo or in a group.

if this is the one chance he has to experience hhn, have him go for it.

have him buy the ep so it will lessen his line waits for the houses.
if he is not used to doing things alone, this will benefit him so he doesn't feel necessary to make chit chat with strangers if he is a shy one.

check the date thread about when are you going to hhn.

i'd be glad for him to hang with me in the parks if he wants company.
there are some other solos that are going that have posted in places on the darkside that have thrown out the same offer.

the Mr is a cardinal fan isn't he......?

That helps a lot! He's totally cool doing stuff by himself in general, so I'm sure he'd be fine. (I think he was more concerned with leaving us for a night, on a family vacation, which is totally ok with me).

We're cardinals fans, just went to a game last week actually ;) We follow hockey and soccer more though!

We've seen......and chatted to lots of solo travellers at HHN.

We always offer to take their pics if they want..........I'm sure he'll have a great time ::yes::

We are in the same situation with a 5 and 7 year old. I'll be heading to HHN by myself and have a few ideas which may help you all have fun.

1. When he goes through the scare zones have him start a facetime or Skype video chat. That way you will be able to see the fun and he may feel less guilty.

2. Set a shared picture stream so you can get pictures he's taking immediately.

3. Plan something at the hotel for just you and the kids. He may feel better knowing you all are having a great time too. Plus this gives you something to look forward to.
