HHN 2021

We're on the fence this year. I really don't want to go back to the parks until we don't have to wear masks but I also want to get back to HHN. Currently have a room booked at HRH and in Asheville (fall foliage hiking!) while we ponder. Two completely different types of vacations for two completely different worlds.

Hopefully we'll have a decent idea of what our world might look like in October by July 4th or so.

Yeah, I get it...but....I have had the vaccine now and the masks, while a bit annoying, I'm used to...to the point that I feel naked without one...LOL! I really want to go. We shall see!

So, we're pretty sure we're delaying our next DCL sailing in November until 2022 and using that vacation time for an HHN trip (our first!) the week of 10/20. Our first UOR experience was last summer during the reopening phase and we were hooked to the laissez-faire approach to a Universal vacation. When they suggest 13+ for HHN, what is your experience with that? Our boys are 13&11, closer to 14&12 come October. Additionally, it's our youngest who is more fearless than the older. I have other HHN questions re: ticketing and whatnot, but I'm searching/perusing the threads now.

How are they with jump scares? Scare-across will run up to you, sometimes with a chain saw going, or jump out at you. While they don't touch you there's no way to avoid them and there are a lot of scared zones. Any chance you could do a local haunted house before hand to gauge their jump scares reactions?

Thanks for the reply. Our local haunts aren't intense by any measure, but they do just fine laughing off the actors. When it comes to VR play, they're ok with and will sometime even seek out the jump-scare stuff. Though, admittedly, those aren't as intense as the "real thing." I assume visual intensity just depends on the house/zone?

I suppose we could do a one night package, and there would be enough for their ages to enjoy without overwhelming them. Plus, we wouldn't be out a multi-night ticket should they refuse to return.
